Come with us now, into the woods, and feel Mother Nature. Her shimmering droplets of rain on our faces. Leaves cascade down ever so gently as trees stand tall and proud, even as their very roots are exposed for all to see.   Come with us now, as we cross over into a special place, that belongs to anyone with the desire to be here. Feel the serenity, smell the forest thick in the air, and know we are one.   Discovery Trails in Long Beach Washington…          Your Seattle Real Estate Experts        Seattle Luxury Homes for Sale

Operating their cranes like a quarter dropping arcade addicts, these Puget Sound creosote cleanup committees have their work cut out for them. The toxic wood preservative used on treated pilings, containing more than 300 chemicals, leaches contaminates into the sound and beaches for the duration of a treated logs life. And that can be a very long time! Retrieving the treated wood assists all marine life including salmon, herring, Orca whales, Harbor seals, and many species of birds, who have been documented to suffer from effects of creosote. To date, thousands of tons of derelict pilings and beach debris have been removed from Puget Sound shorelines, as new and non toxic treated pilings have replaced the menacing creosote treated wood to ensure a safer environment for all of us!     ...

As I head out to Arizona this morning, I ponder the effects of missing out on my daily correspondence in Active Rain.    While I will achieve my goal of submitting a new post each day for the September Localism Challenge, I am going to be dedicating this week to family I've missed in the greater Phoenix area.    Until next week…Best regards from Seattle

As I look back on my Seattle walkabouts, I have become aware of how green we really are. Seattle Aquarium is on my to do list every month, and each time I go, there is something different to notice. Today, I was on the look out for green moments to share... Let's start at the entry, shall we?... Hmmm...Funny, I never noticed this before!... By gosh, those are solar panels! Let's see if we find green inside the aquarium... Separate trash with ease...Yep, that's pretty green! Big neon sigh with interactive Scuba diver exhibit every hour on pollution of our oceans... Oh! How about these statistics?...What a mission statement: Inspiring Conservation Of Our Marine Environment!...with educational programs, beach outreach and updated research on regional species! Looks to me like our Seattle A...

There is nothing like ending a great dinner (that I successfully prepared!) with a beautiful sunset. I never get tired of watching the ferry glide through the water as the sun sets behind the mountains. Sail boats enjoyed the view along with us and all the passengers making their way home on the ferry. As we watch this day pass by, and say good evening to the Emerald City, I think to myself... Another glorious day in Seattle!     Seattle Luxury Homes for Sale Your Seattle Real Estate Experts
