There was just one reported sale of waterfront Sammamish homes on the NWMLS during January.  The home sold for $603,000 after about five months on the market. This home is situated on a view lot with 180 degrees of Lake Sammamish panoramic views.  The 5 bed, 2.5 bath, 2,690 sq ft home was built in 1972.  It's actually on the East side of E Lake Sammamish Pkwy, but it has access rights to a shared waterfront plot. The shared waterfront is a private community beach with 300 feet of shoreline.  With a boat launch, dock, and sandy beach, the shared waterfront allows a homeowner to access many of the benefits of waterfront living without paying the full price of a traditional waterfront home. Sales on Sammamish's waterfront in 2011 were just another notch in the belt of Greater Seattle's waterfront resurgence.  Homes sold on Sammish's lakefront properties increased from 19 in 2010 to 32 in 2011, one of the most-significant increases in the Puget Sound region. In particular, sales of more-affordable Sammamish waterfront homes were up significantly.  The total increase of 58% was bolstered by 32 waterfront sales under $1 million, up from just 19 in 2010.  Million dollar-plus sales, at the same time, stood at 15, up from 12 in the previous year.  Overall, while prices were down somewhat, the strengthening sales should create further support for the market and prices in general going in to 2012. Three Lake Sammamish waterfront homes were sold in the past two weeks, heating up the real estate market as we head into the fall.  Circling the lake, the Bellevue, Issaquah, and Sammamish waterfront homes included two sales that had less than two weeks of time on the market. The least-expensive sale was a Sammamish home with a private beach shared by three other homes.  The 3 bed, 3 bath home was on the market for just 12 days, listed at $625,000 and closing at $600,000.  Shared waterfront can be a great way for a buyer to enter the waterfront market at a discounted price, and still have moorage for a boat and beach recreational space. A new sport is gaining momentum on Lake Sammamish: Wake Surfing. This last weekend I had the opportunity to try Wake Surfing on Lake Sammamish. Thanks to the Eastgate Expounders(Toastmasters in Bellevue) summer BBQ our good friends Allison and Brian were kind & patient enough to teach many of us how to wake surf. Wake Surfing is where you stand up on a shortened surf board and surf the wake of a power boat. The power boat has ballast on one side and lists heavily to that side. The displaced water makes a large wake that a properly balanced surfer can ride and do tricks in. In the video below you can see myself and my daughter giving it a try. Today I dropped off my son for a Sounders Soccer Camp at Pine Lake Park in Sammamish. I thought I would take a moment to share with you some great facts about the park. If you live in Sammamish you know what a great park this is. Sammamish residence enjoy picnics, BBQ, Concerts in the Park, swimming, fishing and more! Located along the shores of Pine Lake, the wooded park offers swimming, boat launch, fishing pier, and two new play areas.
