The Puyallup Real Estate landscape has changed once again . . . Hunan Gardens on Puyallup's South Hill has been replaced by Mr. Greek. My wife Teri and I and a couple of friends visiting from Canada headed there last night for dinner to see what Mr. Greek was all about. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly busy, but we were seated right away. The bar that was present with Hunan Gardens has been replaced by additional seating. When we learned Mr. Greek was a chain, I was a little disappointed and my expectations dropped a bit.We ordered a few of the appetizers including the Medeterranian spinach dip, hummus, and tzatziki all accompanied with pita bread. The appetizers were VERY good! I especially liked the Medeterranian spinach dip! Of course I love feta cheese and the dip was spri...

A small caveat before I get started here. If you've been following my monthly market updates, you'll know that I've focused on Pierce County at large. While I will continue to provide market information for Pierce County, I'm going to start drilling down into the Puyallup market by ZIP Code. The graph format is a little different too, but I think you'll find it even more useful. As for the format, all Puyallup ZIP Codes are presented in this singular post. Give me your feedback - should it stay as it is, or would you prefer to see each ZIP Code in its own post? OK, on with it now.**************************************** ZIP Code: 98371The median price decreased for the third month following the high in May. The median price index dropped to $316k from last month's figure of $319k. Despit...

The storm earlier this week sure feels reminiscent to last year's winter weather. Hopefully this is the last of it, but assuming more is to come, Puyallup is one step closer to providing Puyallup residents the help they need in a timely manner. Messages left on the Puyallup Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Hotline are now being text messaged directly to designated EOC staff. Puyallup Emergency Management Director Merle Frank said the new system will allow EOC staff to immediately evaluate the emergency request and act on the request as needed. The Puyallup EOC hotline number is (253) 770-3336 and is available 24/7. The hotline should be used for urgent, non-life threatening emergencies such as flooding, downed power lines, sheltering needs, etc. For life-threatening emergencies, citize...

OK, anyone that knows me, knows I'm a fan of food . . . and especially a fan of good pizza! Way back in 1996 a little restaurant opened in downtown Tacoma called "The Rock Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta". I was attending Tacoma Community College at the time and our class ended up there after our final. I was hooked! By far the BEST pizza in Tacoma was and still is in my opinion at The Rock. I rarely went simply because The Rock was so far away from my house, it was simply easier to just order pizza. Then a couple years ago, The Rock opened in Lakeland. So now a few times a year, I get to enjoy The Rock for lunch as it's only about 10 minutes from my office. Well, the pizza gods have shined on John this year . . . The Rock just opened on South Hill Puyallup! Now it's conveniently located rig...
