We all remember the good ol' days of real estate when we lugged around a giant book of all the homes for sale. The best part about it was that customer's looking to buy a house HAD to call a Realtor to look at homes. Well know there is this big phenomena called "The Internet." Something about connecting people... I forget. :) Almost all of your customers are looking online before they call you. Point being - If you don't want to embrace the internet - GET OUT NOW. Did you know that 73% of homeowners would prefer to list with a Realtor that uses video (Youtube)? And sadly enough only 12% of Realtors are using video. Today my mom and I spent our morning at our local food bank, the Puyallup Food Bank! I have never done anything like this, volunteering my time to bag oatmeal for families that can not afford to purchase their own or fill boxes with potatoes to help make meals for those that can not provide for their families right now.  We even bagged feminine products just because it's needed. It really did feel good to spend the day doing something that I know will help others in these hard times but it really made me realize just how THANKFUL I am.   Between me and my husband we can provide for our family right now.  Yes it is hard times but not so hard that we have to make an appointment to stop by for a bag of food.  I am THANKFUL that even though I am here raising our kids on my own because my hu... 03/24/2011

I have a weakness (or two), I admit. One is finding old photos, or looking through my digital pics on Picasa, Flickr, my CD's, or my 1.5 terabyte external drive. Often, when I find a treasure, off I go on down the rabbit hole. What's next? I was looking for that special 'Kodak Moment' and grabbed at least 40 pics I liked and these two photos stayed near the top almost to the very end. I came back to them many times, yet I couldn't formulate why? The universe was trying to tell me something but I wasn't listening. The Sillyville Drummer... a Kodak Moment. I was at the Puyallup Fair on the last day this year, September 26, 2010. The weather was “iffy” to say the least and we did have a couple of showers. We saw a few patches of blue sky but for most of the day it was overcast, which has its pluses and minuses when you’re taking photographs. Late in the afternoon I ventured into Sillyville, an area of the Fair just for kids. I could hear this amazing banging noise that was now louder than the cacophony of sound around me. I followed the noise and came upon this huge Sound Sculpture surrounded by kids. I was so impressed how special it was that this sculpture had nothing to do with computers, electricity, or technology. Yet, it was a kid magnet and they were having a blast. At the end of September I went to the Puyallup Fair with camera in hand. It was a great day even though the weather was iffy. I was pleased that a lot of the theme rides were freshly painted. I was walking around the Puyallup Fair Grounds this past Sunday towards “Sillyville”, the kids area. I love the cacophony of sound. The people talking and laughing, the loudspeakers blurting out invitations to try your luck at a game or two. The music from various areas of the fairgrounds all mashed up together and punctuated with screaming kids on rides as they’re spun, twirled, jerked, flipped and catapulted 100 feet into the air... A different sound emerges. Like a microwave popping popcorn, except the corn is made of steel or something and it's really loud. I followed the noise and was delighted to find all of these kids having a blast playing this Found Sound Sculpture made of pots and pans, hubcaps, tin cans, bicycle parts, old coffee pots, springs, and empty water jugs. Kimmie Daily was last seen leaving her home on South Hill in Puyallup, WA on August 17, 2010.  She never returned.  Kimmie Daily is 16 with the mental capacity of a 12 or 13 yr old.  She was last seen wearing light blue T-shirt, black shorts and carrying a backpack.
