Mountlake Terrace is a great Seattle Suburb if you are looking for big parks and great city facilities!  The Mountlake Terrace library is one of the wonderful Seattle Suburb Sno-Isle Regional libraries.  Check out DVDs, CDs, books, etc., and the children's reading section at this library is loaded with books, tables for reading, computers, and even a rocking chair for the schedules story times. Raining and pouring...Mountlake Terrace Washington just had the first snow of the year, but temps went up and the rain started pouring!  The snow melted and combined with the rain is just too much for the storm system to handle all at once.  Rivers and waterways in the area are over capacity and running into the streets causing road closures.Make sure and observe the road closures and stay safe.  If you see a storm drain blocked in front of your house, take the time and clear it so that the water can run unobstructed off the road ways.  The city is having a hard time keeping up, but all the water should be cleared soon. Safety is vital and the trails around our schools are brilliant!    Trails are great for fitness and casual walks, but also vital to the students using them to get to and from school!    Some recent events - The Edmonds School District recently temporarily closed the walking trail behind Mountlake Terrace High School between the school and Castle Crest 2.  The trail is a vital transportation route for many students who live in both Brier and Mountlake Terrace and keeps them off busier streets.  Apparently there were complaints and some concern expressed over the lack of supervision for students in these areas and whether or not the trails were being properly used.
