Well, as most of you know, Tim and I have been venturing back to the Washington state area from Missouri over the last couple weeks. (Why does it take 2 weeks to move across the country? - Well, I don't like to drive and doing so with a cat, dog and two rambunctious boys is quite tiring.) But for the last couple weeks we have packed up, loaded up and moved from Springfield Missouri to the small town of Marysville Washington, just 30 miles north of Seattle. We grew up in this area and only lived in Missouri for two years so in a sense it was coming home. We had a two-year ministry project in Springfield Missouri that we had the option to extend for another two years if we wanted to. Knowing how difficult it was going to Liberia this last March without any family around to take care of ou...

It's been a good month for home sellers in Marysville, WA. Marysville market data is a good representation of markets being local, since the property prices are very good right now. Despite popular opinion and what the news says, there are plenty of opportunities to purchase a new construction home with zero down financing. Where? The Marysville Meadows that is. Built by Encore Homes, the Marysville Meadows features 6 different floor plans ranging from 3-4 bedrooms and 2-4 car garages starting in the mid $160,000's. It may be hard to realize that a builder can offer such a great price on a home not to mention the zero down financing. Let's start with the financing, USDA zero down financing. USDA Rural Development program allows people to purchase in areas designated outside the city limits. When it was originally developed, the USDA program enticed families to farther out to the rural areas but now it offers a better financing option for close in living. For Marysv...

Modest Abode in MarysvilleToday I was called on to price this modest abode in Marysville, Washington.Home was several years old, in a private enclave of homes around cul-de-sacs.It was already abandoned, with the first interior property inspection already done. The foreclosure notice was on the door.I took the pictures, shot a video, and came back to the office where Liz was filling in the information for the bank online.A modest abode in Marysville. Soon to add to the ranks of foreclosed houses in our state.Sad but true.

Baby Boomers. There are approximately 79 million of ‘em living in the United States. The name alone invokes a cornucopia of images: The Beatles, Watergate, Vietnam War, JFK, Elvis, Mr. Potato Head, Barbie, and Beaver Cleaver. In 2011, the first Baby Boomers will turn 65 years old. The hippies of yesterday have moved to the yuppies of today and hover as the largest retirement generation in U.S. history. That’s a lot of Betsy Wetsy dolls and Rock’em Sock’em Robots. According to Del Webb research: 36 percent of Boomers will move or plan to move when they become Empty Nesters. When they retire, 55 percent say they will move. 26 percent of Baby Boomers will consider purchasing a home in an age-qualified Active Adult Community. Furthermore, Boomers who moved or will consider moving from their...

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating at a restaurants called 5 Guys last weekend with some friends. Well as you know most restaurants get most of their business through referrals. As agents, we would like to get referrals the same way restaurants do.  I just wanted to post that a friend of ours suggested that we eat at the restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the service was great. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a casual place to eat for the evening. The one we eat at was in Marysville, WA. Did I mention, it was good pricing.
