Knowledge is the Power for Your Freedom to a Worry Free Home!   Q. What if the report reveals problems? No home is perfect. Just because your inspection report reveals problems this does not mean you should not necessarily buy the home. My goal is to provide you and your family with the best information that I can about the condition of the home and property at the time, your home inspection was done for you. Your Real Estate Agent is a lot better equipped to negotiate individual items than I am. Regardless of who takes care of any issues, please be sure to follow up on any recommendations. Most of your inspection will mainly be maintenance recommendations, life expectancies and minor imperfections. These are nice to know about. However, the issues that really s...

Knowledge is the Power for Your Freedom to a Worry Free Home!   A leak from a fuel oil line in your basement or even a utility room will create an unpleasant odor throughout your home. This is a very important condition to check because it's a fire hazard. You need to have any leaks repaired just as soon as you can. Unfortunately, there have been some systems installed where copper tubing is ran directly on the floor and makes it subject to being crushed. It's a very poor policy and a really big hazard. In many case's the connections of the copper line to the tank, the pump, and the nozzle have been made by using a type of fitting called a compression. These fittings are not recommended for using as a oil line connection because they often leak.   This posting and the contents ...

Knowledge is the Power for Your Freedom to a Worry Free Home!    A oil burner system is comparable to a gas burner except for the cost of fuel oil, which can run twice as much as a gas system. If you keep it properly maintained, your oil burning forced air furnace or boiler system will operate as efficiently and cleanly as a gas fired system. The oil burner does require more service than a gas burner, because there are a lot more compo nets to them. I always recommend having oil burners serviced annually. Even with the slight additional cost of maintenance, and the higher cost of fuel now a days, having a oil fired furnace is the best choice when the area you and your family lives in, does not have natural gas available. You may have had folk's tell you that they have had...

Knowledge is the Power for Your Freedom to a Worry Free Home!       ( In case anyone stop's by, I am not done with this post )     A very unusual aspect of Franklin's personality, at least by the standards of the 18th century, was his concern for personal hygiene.  From his youth he was an avid swimmer, and in his adult life he bathed as often as once a week practice considered scandalous at the time. Franklin not only brought the first bathtub to America but also improved its design and spent much of his time reading and writing while soaking. His concern for sanitation went beyond his own personal needs, and he was instrumental in creating America's first public sewer system in Philadelphia.
