Church Street in Burlington VT has many wonderful events! What a prerfect way to spend the day then to admire the ice sculptures on display along Burlington's most favorite waterfront street . Many sculptures were on display with Church Street's favorite restaurants and stores. I am not sure which one I like the best. There is always something special about Ben and Jerrys icecream that is sure to be a crowd pleaser, however considering the temperature was about 8 degrees that day, it may not have be on their mind! Burlington has been often stated as one of the best downtowns in America! Many other events occur aong this popular street such as the festival of fools, the Jazz Festival, Mardi Gras and many other events! Come check it out for yourself!

The 19th annual Burlington VT Penguin Plunge was a tremdious success with raising almost $500,000 for the Special Olympics!  February 8th was a great day with fairly mild weather, perfect day to take a plunge into Lake Champlain. 50 cadets volunteered to help keep more than 1,300 participants safe and organized. There were a total of 150 volunteers at the event. Teams are announced in waves with only 25 plungers in each wave. There were a total of 53 waves. The top event fundraiser was Champlain Valley Union High School raising more than $40,000. The school had an outsgandin 118 members on their team. Wet Willies, the team Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger went with, raised more than $20,000. The real question here is, how many of you would have the courage to take the Plunge?

The 19th Annual Penguin Plunge to benefit the Vermont Special Olympics is scheduled for this Saturday February 8th.  Participants check in at 8:30am on Saturday and the event starts at 11:00am.  The first event started in 1996 when a few crazy Vermonters decided to brave the cold and managed to raise $8,000 doing so.  Last year over 1,200 brave souls were willing to jump into freezing cold Lake Champlain raising a total of $392,458!  This annual event raises about 40% of the annual budget for the Vermont Special Olympics.  So far this year they have raised over $250,000. It looks like mother nature is willing to cooperate this year.  The forcast is looking like balmy 24 degrees this Saturday with the lake temps at about 32 degrees.  There is no reason to not join in the fun and there is...
