My wife and I have a favorite place to visit on Sunday's throughout the summer and most of the Fall Season. It is the Archwood Green Barns Farmer's Market in The Plains Virginia. Additionally, this time of year, the Corn Maze is in FULL OPERATION and it is wonderful to see and experience. The variety of Farm Goods at the Market includes but is not limited to, Honey, Vegetables, Fruit, some Crafted Items, Pumpkin Patch, Apples, Pastured Eggs, Pastured Beef and Poultry and so much more. In fact, we purchase all of our Beef, Poultry and Eggs at the Archwood Green Barns Farmer's Market.Why am I writing this today? I decided to take a day off from Real Estate today and treat it like a Mini Vacation. Sharon and I decided to drive out to a Local Farm where we buy our beef and poultry and to take our time in getting there. The drive was very refreshing as we stopped several times, taking pictures and simply enjoying our time together. Here are four photos of the many we quickly snapped. By the way, I'm guessing the sheep in the bottom photo did not want their picture taken. When we walked up, they were looking at us but note how they are posed for the photo - ALL of them. A Visit to The 2012 Corn Maze in The Plains A lazy Sunday afternoon is a great time to pick up a local paper and see what is happening in your area.  Yesterday, that's exactly what my husband James and I did.  We picked up our HOA newsletter and found a tidbit on a corn maze about twenty minutes from our home in Braemar.  The maze was reported to be five acres in size.  That's no joke.  And with a $9 adult admission charge, not a bad deal. We pulled up to The Corn Maze in The Plains at about five o'clock in the afternoon.  Just as we'd hoped, we had avoided any early afternoon crowds and were just in time for the last round of maze participants let in at five-fifteen.  Since we were the only two waiting to gain entry, we got a really brief and laid back orientation to the maze.  For sta... 10/15/2012

The Plains, Virginia have (in my opinion) one of the nicest Farmers Markets I've ever strolled through. It is called, The Archwood Green Barns Farmers and Gardeners Market and it's right off of I-66. Recognizing today as probably one of the last "best weather" days of the fall, my spouse and I decided to venture out West, as we usually do when its time to "go outside and play". Destination: The Corn Maze in The Plains Virginia. Located just off of  I-66 and Route 601, this working farm promises one of the top corn mazes in the D.C. area. It also boasts thousands of pumpkins (42 cents a pound), a "barnyard" of fun, plenty of kettle corn, and of course hayrides. The absence of progeny does not discourage us from visiting places such as these, after all, there is a kid in all of us wouldn't you say? The Corn Maze is a fairly unassuming place. The corn maze is exactly that... a huge maze created in a corn field in The Plains, Virginia.  This is the 9th year for the corn maze.....They are celebrating this year with "A-mazing Earth" maze...it's really a site to see.  The design changes every year....so if you made it out last year........no worries...
