Macro Video, why didn't I think of that.  The following link is to a video made on a Panasonic Lumix    DMC FZ 38 CAMERA.  This is an upgrade to the camera that I have.  With video being added to cameras you can utilize almost all the features available to the camera to the video.  In this case it is to the Macro capability of the camera.  This one has also a close up filter attached to it.  Now the video is not all that impressive on the small screen but imagine watching it with your five year son on a 50 inch plasma tv.  That would be awesome.  It is also something they could participate in making.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCoJH0PU03U&feature=related   http://www.geneallen.com Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Ha...

Tidewater Community College in Suffolk is sitting on some primo land.  It seems they own that big open area of land you see when you first come out of the Moniter Merrimac tunnel from Hampton.  I am talking not only to the right of the bridge but to the left as well.  There is about 389 acres.  When this is sold to developers it will be a huge financial boon to the college.  Interstate access and waterfront property.  Where else in the area is there anything like this left?  There is a small superfund cleanup site on the land but that will all be done by 2014.  http://www.geneallen.com Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads. There is a new shotgun training center for Suffolk citizens.  Where can you go to learn how to use your new shotgun and make sure it is working great?  You can carry yourself on down to Moyock to the U.S. Training Center.  They teach handgun, shotgun and carbine.  This used to be the Blackwater center but a new name change for Blackwater (Xe) has resulted in a new name and mission for the training center.  They now are training civilians.  http://www.geneallen.com Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads. Get Square Virginia.  What a title.  I was just reading about about a program that may help some of our real estate clients in Virginia.  It a new tax amnesty program that runs during Fiscal Year 2010.  It is called "Get Square VA" and establishes a 60-day period during which, with certain exceptions, taxpayers who have an outstanding bill or delinquent return for any tax administered by the Virginia Department of Taxation ("TAX") may receive amnesty. Get Square VA allows the taxpayer to pay only the tax due and half the interest on eligible outstanding bills and delinquent returns; the remaining interest and penalties will be waived.  Go here Get Square VA for more details.  If you want to see how facebook can be used take a gander at the Face Book Page for the State Department of Taxa...

The Suffolk field hockey team suffered possibly a season ending injury last Monday evening.  The Kings Fork High School team was coming back from a game on a wet, dark night when the bus veered into a ditch.  There were 23 people on board and eleven were taken to emergencys rooms.  The most serious was a broker ankle.  The driver is suspended pending an official investigation. http://www.genesellsvirginiabeach.com  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake,  Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. I was reading a story the other day in the newspaper and thought this is a perfect case of making sure you do your due diligence in Suffolk or other areas for that matter. It seems Mr and Mrs Bright wanted to live in rural western Suffolk on about 34 acres of land.  So they contracted to have a 2,300 modular home put on the property and made an application to have Dominion Power bring electricity to the house.  Her brother and sister owned land right there also and used Dominion Power.  Well it turns out that Dominion Power only serves part of the land but not the part of the land that the house sits on.  Now the Brights had to start over again with Community Electric Co-op.  Seems that they didn't any deeded access to the property and had to get access from a neighbor's property and he...

I put an offer in on a house in Burbage Grant in Suffolk, Va two weeks ago.  I now have approval.  The seller was using a company that is supposed to be helping Veterans with their short sales.  Apparently it worked in this case.  Very impressive. http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. Atlas Van Lines has classified Virginia as a moving destination.  I could have told them that if they would have asked.  People are moving away from states with hard hit industries like automobiles and heavy manafacturing.  Believe it or not many midwesterners are headed to warmer climates and brighter economic prospects. Atlas said they moved 4,210 families into the state as opposed to 2,968 out.  Washington, DC had the highest gain as did North Carolina.  The overall market for moving has cooled by 9% as has most of the economy.  So remember me as your referral agent of choice when your buyer says he is moving to the Hampton Roads area. http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This sit...

Homearama 2009 previously scheduled for the Virginia Beach real estate development of North Shore at Ridgely Manor has been moved to Suffolk. As reported by Terry Peterson, "Hampton Roads Crossing is the perfect place for Homearama 2009", "It's a classic mixed-use development whose design combines office, hotel, retail, apartment and residential for-sale. It's certainly conceivable that our residents will be able to walk to work or classes and then stop and shop on their way back home" he continued. "It's an incredibly well-located community accessible to the Peninsula or downtown Norfolk in under 15 minutes. The homes currently selling in the community range from just under $200,000 to just over $300,000. Homearama will expand our price range while still remaining accessible to a larg...

Please don't laugh but I need to know if anyone has heard of an area around Norfolk that allows jets to land in a subdivison?  I have a buyer coming from the area around Chicago where they have a subdivison with an airstrip for the homeowners.  I have seen little Piper Cub type planes in the outer reaches of Suffolk but jets are quite another.  Thanks in advance for any answers, help and so on. http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. Last August Suffolk held a National Night Out celebration that brought out over 5,000 citizens.  Suffolk's festivities included a duck race, a party and a pep rally at Peanut Park.  The police and firefighters staffed public safety booths.  The national award comes the nonprofit National Association of Town Watch and selected Suffolk from a field of 294 cities.  City leaders should be proud of themselves. http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. If it ever gets off the ground, CenterPointe, at the corner of US 58 and Holland will be huge. Over 900 acres, 5 million square feet of warehouse space and 2,700 jobs.  This is a big project and citizens are mostly concerned about US 58.  It is pretty much over used now and that many cars as well as the trucks to feed the warehouse is not something the citizens want.  The developer, the city of Suffolk and the state are not talking about doing anything with the road.  http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. Suffolk has been embroiled with an assessment problem for a while now.  The last assessor decided to raise assessments of mostly waterfront properties and not by just a little.  It may have been the right thing to do but it cost the assessor her job.  The new assessor received over 500 appeals and dropped the assessment on 387 of them.  The lowered assesments on property in Suffolk will reduce the cities tax revenues by oer $450,000.  Most of the residents are happy but wished for bigger cuts. http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. Several boats have struck submerged debris where the Kings Highway Bridge, in Suffolk, once stood.  The Army Corps of Engineers have done surveys but need to put divers in the water.  That should happen fairly soon and the areas will be marked with buoys.  The bridge was dismantled last year at a cost of $2.4 million.  If the debris there is from the demolition, VDOT will foot the bill. http://www.deniseallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. The ex-Suffolk assessor for Suffolk recently settled a lawsuit with Suffolk  The terms of the deal were not disclosed.  City officials would not comment.  The assessor was fired for recently changing the way homes had been assessed along waterfront property.  There were other issues to be sure but his was the most public display by the assessor. http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search. A hog truck on the way to Smithfield recently overturned in Suffolk at the Intersection Godwin Blvd and Kingsdale Rd.  Several hogs were killed and several more escaped.  The road was closed for six hours.  The Chuckatuck Volunterr Fire Department kept the remaining hogs cool my spraying them with water while they were being transferered to another truck.    http://www.geneallen.com/  Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.  This site is updated daily with new real estate listings, pictures and other information vital to your home search.
