      The first of 700 homes in Waynewood were delivered in the early 60's.  They were extremely well crafted by Gosnell Builders.  A very attractive feature is that many of the split level homes have a fourth upper level which is a walk-in standup attic.  Of course, many of them have now been finished into additional living space. Waynewood Elementary is located within the subdivision.  Although it was a futuristic concept in the beginning it is still highly valued and was a prototype for similar schools in later subdivisions. The Waynewood Swim Club is also an integral part of the social fabric of the community.
