Driving home last night I saw the telltale signs that severe weather was on it's way - rows of ghostly white lines down the road. When it's cold enough and the forecast is for icy or snowy weather the Virginia Department of Transportation department pretreats the roads to prevent the ice and snow from bonding to the road making it easier to remove. In season's past it has helped get the roads clearer, and if you understand a little chemitry it makes sense.  The weather forecasters were calling for a wintry mix to hit the Richmond Virginia area and it did. When we woke up this morning most of the local schools were on a 2 hour delay. Then slowly but surely schools started to close for the day. I don't know about you, but yesterday's rain was enough for me to want to stay in bed and sleep the day away. Alas, I can't do that. In addition to being your full time Richmond VA Realtor, I am also a mother to 2 elementary school children, a wife to a very busy husband, and the caretaker to 3 furry family members.
