A Tale of Two Kitchens and a Dream Home in DisguiseYears ago a buyer contacted me to find a single family home in Gainesville. Most important thing was an open floor plan, not a lot of stairs and a private lot. They preferred a newer home, but would entertain homes built in the 1990's. We looked at a home built within the last year. Its curb appeal was not at all appealing. There was a staircase of nearly two stories going to the front door, because the entire three story home was virtually all above ground. The lot sounded great in the description as being on a cul-de-sac, was misleading. Yes, it was on a cul-de-sac, but backed to a commercial area and a 45 mile per hour four lane divided by-way. The buyers were giving reason upon reason why this house didn't work, all the while...
