When my clients decided to build we set out for quite a journey. Building a home is never easy, but it is very rewarding! You can actually get what you want!What my clients wanted was a first floor master with a large porch and a view! Not to much to ask for, but it did not exist. So we went ahead and built it in Old Trail, Crozet Virginia.Last week we did the main walk-though and my people got first had explanations of the systems in their new home.We got the first floor master, open floor plan and a grand view!It took some time, about 9 months but it was worth the wait! OK, it is not my pond but it is an amazing spot. Located West of Charlottesville in Albemarle County is Beaver Creek Reservoir.   Just a great spot to enjoy the day.        Other than the fact that this is a nice lake, do you notice anything interesting in the above photo? Let me zoom in a little for you: Yes that is a man in a canoe enjoying this place all to himself. But look a little closer (wish I had a better zoom lens) and you will see he has his dog with him. When you list your home the goal is to get it SOLD  This does not mean to just list a home and get it on the market. If this is your goal then there are a lot of agents out there that will just "list" your home. Look around there is a lot of inventory.If you want to tell me what price you "need" that is fine, but do not be surprised if that is not what the market will bear... When you are looking for homes and want a bite to eat, we may just stop off at Crozet Pizza!This little pizza parlor has been written about and talked about so much you have to find out what all the fuss is. They have New York's thin crust or Chicago's deep dish available so all will enjoy!It is a old building and a very comfortable setting (no ties please!). When you visit you you almost feel like you stepped back into a old Western movie set. They opened in 1977 in an old condemned building. Crozet is one of my favorite areas around Charlottesville. In fact I own property there so I am very interested in the development and progress being made. Our Planning Commission will be holding a work session on Tuesday, January 29, at 6:00 p.m. to review and discuss the Crozet Downtown Zoning project. There is a lot going on here so if you can, try to attend.Per their annoucement, the discussion will include review and recommendation on proposed regulations for a new Downtown Crozet Zoning district.  Also the boundaries for a potential County-initiated rezoning to the proposed zoning district will be discussed. Soon you will be able to Swim at the new Old Trail Pool! The plans are underway and if all goes well we will have a pool by Memorial Day 2008. With 8 lanes, a deep end and a section that will have a beach access it is bound to be a hit! The location is overlooking the 35 acre Old Trail Park, right down from the town center!I have mentioned Old Trail before, I have several clients there, including a home under construction with a client. We are expecting rain tomorrow (a slight chance of snow). I really can not imagine snow yet, but that is another story. Today I took a drive to visit the home of 2 different clients that are under construction and the colors were incredible!
