With the pandemic at its full swing housing has been a mix in the past few weeks. We went from 30 showings on a starter or first time home buyer listing to maybe a handful or no offers on the home.Style of homes that may hit hard if unemployment and global pandemic continue:Vacation Homes: Your ski, beachfront or lakefront properties are always the bottom of the barrel to recover for obvious reasons. People will give up travel and vacation to weather the economy hit. Many of these property locations are driven by the local economy aka tourist industry.  If the overall recovery remains sluggish by the end of 2020 the impact on vacation homes may be felt well into 2021. The past 48 hours have completely changed many things in the US. Announcement from WHO, the Stock market diving down into the bear market, NCAA and NBA announcements apart from colleges and now local public schools.Between this commotion should you hold off on buying a home in the Northern Virginia real estate market?Here are some of my personal thoughts reading up on various economists across the continent.
