I remember sitting with a broker several years ago as he began to tell me about selling homes way back when and how very little paperwork was involved. He told me back then some of the contracts were written on just one page. One page?! I was incredulous and amazed that the entire real estate transaction could be included in just one page! I thought...the text had to be very small in order to get EVERYTHING on that single piece of paper. While he was telling me the story, was busy writing as well. As he finished the story, and handed me the paper he was writing on...and this is what it said...ha-ha!   Wow! How times have changed! My car overheated yesterday and as I stood next to it, steam coming from under the hood, coolant pooling under my car, no one stopped to HELP! A grandpa in a small pick-up, who I really thought would offer help, just looked over at me and continued driving! A 20-something year old man in a pumped up, jacked up pick up didn't even glance over at me and continued on. I know he had to have seen me but looked away as his truck approached... Not to mention a train of cars...just zooming by! I was there for 20 minutes in 100 degree heat... With one exception. an elderly woman in an older model car with an oxygen tube running up her nose! She stopped and asked if there was anything she could do for me...how sweet! So, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the only person who offered help yesterday... 07/23/2009

LOOK what my husband found on his way home yesterday!  He was driving on Interstate 15, took the Bluff Street Exit, stopped at the Stop Sign, looked over and saw this little kitten just off the road. There are 5 lanes of traffic...I'd hate to think of what could have happened! People impatiently started honking their horns - rush hour - as he stepped out of his truck to pick up this little ball of fur...he just ignored it while looking for others that may have been there. This morning I had a flat tire on Interstate 15. So I eased my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully got out of the car and opened the trunk. I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic. They looked so lifelike, you wouldn't believe! They were in trench coats, exposing their nude bodies and private parts to the approaching drivers. Cars start slowing down looking at my lifelike men. And of course, traffic starts backing up with everybody tooting their horns and waving like crazy. It wasn't long before a state trooper pulls up behind me.
