The Port Aransas Beach Marker Map in Google Maps is a very helpful tool to locate specific locations on the beaches of Mustang Island and North Padre Island.  The beach markers are on elevated signs located along the front of the dunes and often provide the only clear landmark to determine a specific location on area beaches.  This site also contains links for current Port Aransas Beach Weather including tide levels, wind speed/direction and water temperature.  Additionally, the Texas General Land Office (GLO) Texas Beach Watch Program provides water quality results from six Mustang Island locations.     06/29/2019

PORT ARANSAS, Texas - June 1, 2019 -  Laguna Isles in Port Aransas is now under construction.  The new subdivision will feature waterfront lots.  Infrastructure work (as shown below) is underway on Phase 1 which is approximately 18 acres with 40-50 homesites.  The proposed five-phase development would encompass 185 acres.  Laguna Isles on Mustang Island is located just south of and adjacent to the Island Moorings community. The Port Aransas real estate market had a pretty remarkable 2018 considering hurricane Harvey devastated our community in late August 2017.  Although some businesses and homes are still being repaired, most fully recovered during 2018.  As of early 2019, many of the large Gulf front condo buildings are still undergoing repairs/renovations.  Several developments will likely not be completed until 2020. Real estate prices in Port Aransas are down slightly from pre storm levels, but have not fallen as drastically as some predicted.  In 2018 the average single-family home sold for $478,925 ($250sf) and condos were at $291,512 ($227.09).  Residential lot pricing remained steady with the average sale priced at $151,132 ($24.59sf). Early signs point to a strong market in 2019.  As a reference,... 01/27/2019

The term "Glamping" was new to me until an entrepreneurial Fort Worth family established Camp Coyoacan to Port Aransas in 2016.  According to the folks at GlampingHub, glamping is defined as luxury camping or glamorous camping. I've already heard from several repeat guests and they love glamping in Port Aransas at Camp Coyoacan.  The camp is centrally located in "Old Town" Port A and close to the beach, shops and great restaurants on Beach Street.  Bicycle rentals are also available.  Recently, The Bend Magazine had a great story about the camp.  Read the story and learn how you can go glamping in Port Aransas.    07/16/2017

An exciting and active new business recently opened in Port Aransas.  Beach Street Fitness located 401 Beach Street offers locals and Mustang Island visitors a great place to workout.  As they say on their Beach Street Fitness Facebook page  "We are a gym for all and any fitness levels, having all been the beginner at some point, we know how to gauge workouts for you in a group atmosphere." They offer monthly membership or they have a Drop In Fee for Port Aransas visitors.  07/13/2017
