Highland Village, Texas woman and US history teacher at North Central Texas College, Robin Cole-Jett has written a book called "Images of America: Lewisville" which tells about a farming community that has grown to be one of the largest cities in Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Hundreds of pictures in the book shows how early Lewisville (Denton County) residents dressed, worked, played and moved about. Rate markets started slightly weaker this morning, the bellwether 10 yr note still unable to crack 3.10% closing yesterday at 3.11% and at 8:45 this morning at 3.13%. Mortgage prices also a little weaker, -4/32 (.12 bp) at 8:45. Asian stock markets were lower on soft earnings, Europe's stock markets trading weaker and US stock indexes looking soft into the 9:30 open. Crude lower to start the day while gold a little higher. The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) is using nomadic animals (bison) to help restore the tall grass prairie the area had some 200 years ago before people settled. "Our goal is to get this back to the condition it was in about 200 years ago, before settlement," said Ken Steigman, LLELA director.   You might think that buffalo roam freely here, but bison herds are an uncommon site in North Texas. The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area director hopes that the bisons' grazing will invigorate the natural plant life.   Come check the bison heard out. I try to find lots of summer activities nearby for my son.  I try to allow him to go to camps that will teach him something new.  Whether it's a week long day camp at a horse ranch, learning about horses, art camp, or even a class that might improve some of his skills in preparation for the next school semester (those aren't his favorites), finding things for kids to do is essential to the working mom. A friend of mine posted on Facebook that it's the little things that make her happy. This time, it's that the city of Lewisville is moving to once-a-week recycling instead of every two weeks.  Starting the week of April 4, you can start putting your recycling bin by the curb with your regular trash.  You are still bound by the list of acceptable items but now you can start getting more aggressive with your glass and aluminum!
