First Christian Church in Katy is Holding Living Nativity   First Christian Church in Katy is hosting a Living Nativity portrayal on Saturday December 13, 2014. The presentations are schedule for 6:30 PM, 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM. First Christian Church is located at 22101 Morton Ranch Road, Katy TX 77449 with phone being 281-492-2693. Commemorative Air Force Hangar Visit was a Bust   I wrote a post about the Commemorative Air Force hosting a hangar visit on Saturday August 16, 2014. I went to the West Houston Airport which is located very close to Katy about noon yesterday with the intention to do a video of the hangar event as numerous folks love planes. I got there to find unfortunately the gate to the hangar area was closed and you need a code to get in. I did not see any activity back in the hangar area at all including no cars. There was a sign in front on the street telling folks about the hangar event!   I apologize to all who read my post and went to find no way into the Hangar. I have no idea why this happened. Commemorative Air Force Houston Wing Hosting Open House Katy   West Houston Airport 18000 Groshke Road Houston TX 77084 West Houston Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is holding an open house.The spring open house will be held on Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13, 2014.   The doors will be open each day from 10AM until 4PM. My advice is to go early.   Enjoy a plane ride, View numerous aircraft and cars, take pictures and appreciate aircraft from World War II, Korea and today both on the ground and in the air. A Lockheed C-60A paratroop transport plane is onsite.   Fighters, Bombers, and Transport planes plus many more will be on site. Katy Senior Center Hosts Art and Painting Class   Katy Senior Center 5370 E. Fifth St Katy TX 77493 281-391-4837 The City of Katy Senior Center is holding an Art and Painting class on Tuesday February 11, 2014. This class is a weekly one and I believe you can join at any point in time.  The class starts at 10 AM. My guess is this class will last end to noon time. On the same day, a Canasta event will be held from noon until 4 PM at the Senior Center. The Senior Center gives active seniors the opportunity to enjoy a full schedule of fun and games, exercise and health checks, day trips and movies, crafts, parties, holiday celebrations, dining out and much more.   There is no reason for any Harris County Senior to stay at home and be lonely as this center is very active and friendly.   Kat... 02/09/2014

First Lego League Texas Championship being held in Katy   Merrell Center 6301 S. Stadium Dr. Katy TX. 77493   The University of Houston Technology Department has created a First Lego League (FLL) which introduces elementary and middle-school students to real world engineering challenges by having the students build LEGO -based robots. The robots compete by completing specific tasks on what they call a ‘Thematic” playing surface. FLL teams with adult supervision make numerous discoveries and hopefully become interested in eventually making engineering a career.   The Lego League first State Championship will be held at the Merrell Center on Saturday January 4, 2013.
