Katy Old Fashioned Christmas Festival 2016 - Rescheduled I had originally wrote a post concerning an Old Fashioned Christmas being held in Old or Historic Katy TX back on December 2, 2016. This annual event was suppose to be held on the following day or Saturday December 3, 2016. Due to fairly heavy rain in the whole area the Katy Old Fashioned Christmas was rescheduled to Saturday December 17, 2016. I have copied my prior post and updated it for this change. I did post December 3, 2016 concern about the event being held due to the bad weather. Numerous people look forward to attending this event every year as well the local small business owners who are hoping to sell their wares.  On Saturday December 17 , 2016 an Old Fashioned Christmas Festival is being sponsored by Katy Market Days...

Raining Across Katy/Houston Area Today It has been raining across the whole Katy/Houston area which started sometime last night. The forecast for today called for a 100% chance of rain. That forecast is seldom made. I have been in my car driving in a torrential storm and the weather people here were saying 50 % chance of rain. Go figure. I have been getting coastal flood alerts for the last 3 days on my I-Phone. The rain has not yet been of that kind of nature as of now.  I telling everyone about the weather as yesterday I posted about the Old Fashioned Christmas in Old or Historic Katy which is supposed to be held today with Santa and snow arriving at noon and Christmas Tree Lighting this evening. I am not sure what will  happen as this event is held outside. I will try to see if some ...

First Open House - Became first Executed Deal Several years ago, I was a brand new agent and I was given the opportunity to hold an open house for the senior agent I was working under at that point in time. It was his listing and the home was located in Old or Historic Katy. Of course even though I was certainly not a business newbie, I was pretty nervous.   This home was built in the early 1970’s and included a second lot which was immediately next  to the lot containing the home. The home had been updated but still had its own unique charm. This home was very clean and well cared for by the owners. These folks loved this home and of course very proud of it. If I remember correctly, I believe they were moving to the Texas Hill Country as they had retired from working.  I drove the surr...

A Taste of Katy Tailgate Event August 2016 The Historic City of Katy is hosting a Taste of Katy Tailgate event on Friday August 13, 2016  in Downtown Old Katy. All Katy residents are invited for an end of summer bash. This event is part of Operation Backpack which is an twelve year old Houston-wide YMCA program. The idea is to collect and distribute backpacks loaded with school supplies to children who are in need of assistance. I think this is a great program and there are many kids even here in Katy let alone in Houston who need this type of help. I have read 42% of Katy ISD students are at risk.  This event will feature food from numerous local restaurants who will be giving out food tasting and serving meals for purchase. There will be live music being performed by local bands. The ...
