Huntsville, TX Real Estate News

Huntsville TX Real Estate -- North Houston Real Estate -- "How -a-bout that!" A personal Book of Revelation: You know, I cannot get specific --it is about a transaction-- Let's just say--maybe---just maybe there's justice in the world.  I have been attempting to figure out a situation with a transaction for several weeks.  I finally got to the "bottom of it" just to find out--"ouch--that was the bottom and well, maybe--that wasn't the best thing to do---Maybe, I shouldn't have gotten to the bottom of it. After all, ignorance is bliss.  Or..... Quick Sideline----don't worry, the dots will connect---however this is not a guarantee -- it all depends on your "randomness configuration calibration system."  Never mind, here goes: Got a call from a long time friend tonight who was in teaching ...

Home is what really matters... My feelings about home are why I became a Realtor and then wanted to get as much additional training and education as possible with completing the GRI and CRS Designations within my first year and a half. Why?  Because I LOVE helping my clients find the right place for them and their families to come to after a long day.  I want to learn every day so that I can be a better and better Realtor to assist folks and families find their place that transcends its 4 walls and 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.... a place where memories are made, where cookies are baked, where laughter permeates the family room, where Monday Night Football is a religion... the place you can let your hair down, not necessarily wear makeup, curl up on a chair on the porch with an old book you'v...

Huntsville Homes -- Helping Others when Tragedy Strikes It happened a year ago. A Fiery Crash.  Who had run that red light and why!  It took the lives of a young Mother and her Son?  Why? Why? Fast forward to this fall 2010.  I received a call from a Mom helping her son find his first home.  We talked, I thought of what just might be the perfect place.  We went to see it---they LOVED it!  Happy---they were happy.  Even Dad came along.  The son is quite a character--a bright young man in his early 20's with a promising future.  Now---he has his first place.  He is kind of a "prankster" as well.  He enjoys "pulling one over on me" every now and then.  Just a happy young man.  So...why did I see tears in his eyes when we wrote the contract and scheduled the closing date? ....his closing da...

Huntsville TX Homes -- GO RANGERS !!!!  What Rangers?  The Texas Rangers.   Oh, you mean the toughest Western Lawmen of all time of "One Right, One Ranger" fame.  No, silly. (Yes, I am talking to myself again---and it sounds like I am answering too--this could be trouble) The Texas Rangers Baseball Team.  I love my Rangers.  Yes, they did not fare well last evening in their first game against the "Evil Empire" New York Yankees.  But I stil believe "it's time" for my Rangers.  We have been fans through the not so good years.  We enjoy watching every game we can and are huge fans of their announcers "Josh and Tag."  They have that "home grown " feel, they are young upstarts, have incredible entusiasm and passion for the game.  They are SO much fun to watch. We got to see an afternoon game...

Huntsville TX is an awesome place to consider if you are "fixing to retire," want to slow down a bit, are tired of the noise and overcrowding of Houston or Houston suburb, etc.  Retirees love the small town feel, being just an hour from Houston and Major Medical Facilities like MD Anderson, the fact that it is a college town, and don;t forget, Elkins Lake and free golf!  I blog about it a lot.  I can't help it.  I love it ...

Huntsville TX Homes -- HGTV's House Hunters Love Affair with Brian Copeland House Hunters, you know the show---ding-dong-House Hunters--America's most likely definition of a Real Estate Transactions--buying homes and the practice thereof. Is Being a Realtor and home buying summed up into true and exacting picture literally and figuratively on a TV Show?  I see many blogs about the show "House Hunters."  Truth be told, I watch it very often.  Yeah, yeah, I know it doesn't really happen that way very often, but it is what it is intended to be---entertainment. One of my favorites who has had a number of "stints" on the program as the Buyers Agent is Brian Copeland. Brian is a Realtor Extraordinaire and fellow Cyberstar and is located in the Greater Nashville area.  His website is www.Nashv...

Thanks a Million to Big Bad Good "Vegas Bob" You're the Best! Every once in a while in my life, I come across a type of exuberance that is contagious, entertaining, helpful and supportive.  Those adjectives describe the man,"the Legend" Vegas Bob.  Seriously, he really is a very special person.  The real deal special. I've got to tell you he is really cool. Okay--It is the official launch of the "Vegas Bob Fan Club" and I want to be president.  You know, I just needed a little encouragement and a "pick me up" because I have been working like a trojan (I hear the snickers, yeah "trojan" in the old fashioned sense).  You hear stories about people who kind of get to the end of their proverbial rope because  they are just plain tired and all of the sudden, they get a boost from someone "out...

Huntsville TX Homes -- Elkins Lake Homes  --  Visiting Clients….. It was a beautiful day in Elkins Lake. I grabbed our Maltese and did "drive by visits" on a few of my clients that closed on their houses recently. One client was sitting out on the steps in front of his new house talking with a neighbor. His wife was walking in the neighborhood with the neighbor’s wife.  Another client who just moved in last week was out in the driveway cutting some wood for a honey-do project. Another of my clients, a doctor who has recently relocated to Huntsville, wasn't home, but when I knocked and slipped a small gift in the door, what did I see???  She has COMPLETELY renovated everything.  Holy cow, it was beautiful!  This is the before--Stay tuned for the "After"   After all the looking, contracts...

Tonight we attended the Pregnancy Care Center dinner at Sam Houston State University. It is considered the center's largest fundraiser. I have never attended and can tell you that it was an eye opening event. They had the usual things; music (which was excellent), dinner (also excellent) , testimonies (lots) and a call for our help. Of all these wonderful things, let me tell you about the testimony that truly touched my heart. This beautiful, young girl came to the microphone and began to speak in a whisper. She told us her name and began to share her story. Her voice caught, tears came, and two counselors were immediately at her side.  Slowly she continued reading. Her voice was getting a little stronger. She told of how she had been molested as a child and how she had suppressed the m...

The president of the Walker County Lions Club called my husband, who is the president of the Riverside Area Lions Club and asked if we could help their club hand out water at 5K run in Huntsville today. Of course he said that he would and that I would too! I am sooooo.... glad that he did! What a great time we had. Runners showed up at 8 am and it was over by 9:30 am. We cheered them on and passed out fruit and drinks. The proceeds from the event went to CASA, a court appointed volunteer advocacy. You can find out more about them at their website www.casaforchildren.org. They recruited volunteers at the event. Check out the video below! If you live in Walker County you can find out how to volunteer at www.CasaofWalkerCounty.org This is an annual event and will be held again next year on...
