The Faces of Ella Smither Geriatric Center: Ruby Wright Often times people avoid “Nursing Homes” like the plague. I am guessing that this happens for fear of what is inside.   I am here to tell you that the people inside are just like you and me.   Meet Ruby Wright!     Miss Ruby is 91 years old. Her father was the mayor and a local dentist.  Her mother taught her to read before kindergarten. Ruby attending college at "the preacher factory" in Louisiana where she waited tables to help pay for her higher education. Miss Ruby said they called it "the preacher factory" because a lot of future Baptist preachers went to college there.   Ruby met Charles H Wright and they married.  Together she and Charles had FIVE BOYS! Eastham Thomason Park - Huntsville An exact address for Eastham-Thomason Park in Huntsville is  kind of hard to get. The best way to describe it is Avenue N and 7th Street.  On Avenue N, to the north of the Huntsville Aquatic Center, you will find the Frisbee Golf Course section of Eastham-Thomason Park. The frisbee golf area encompasses the area North of the Aquatic Center all the way to 7th Street. Then, on the other side of 7th street, you have another field and a childrens playground area that is also part of the Eastham-Thomason Park.             In the Spring, the field to the west of the playground area on 7th street is covered in bluebonnets.  It makes for great family photo opportunities.   For a relatively small town, Huntsville has some really great parks. Huntsville Aquatic Center ♥ Lap Swimming Season to Begin in September     The Huntsville Acquatic Center is getting ready to start up Lap Swimming   beginning on Monday, September 3, 2012.  Admittance to the Huntsville Acquatic Center for Lap Swimming will be permitted nightly, Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The fee schedule is: Daily $2.00 or $20.00 per season. There are 3 seasons: September through November, December through February, and March Through May. A 3 Season Pass is discounted at $50.00.   I shot this photo at a butterfly garden at an individual's residence in Carolina Cove on Lake Livingston. The family planted butterfly friendly flowers to attract butterflies, and it worked!
