Saturday was a whirlwind of excitement and family fun! I kicked off the day heading to my granddaughter Beckett’s, softball game at 10:30 am. Watching her out there, giving it her all, always fills me with pride and reminds me how grateful I am to live in the same town so I can support her activities.  Next, I dashed over to North Italia, to meet up with friends and just in time for the second half of the UT game, what a game! UT creamed Michigan, and the energy in the restaurant was almost as contagious as at the game. After the victory cheers, I made my way to my grandson’s Pop Warner football practice and game at 5 pm. Watching him and his teammates on the field was the perfect ending to a jam-packed day. It was non-stop from start to finish, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way! 09/08/2024

I love the Pride of Barbados Plant that is in abundance, growing in Austin. I love walking in the mornings because our community landscapers have planted a number of them. I was walking with a friend the other morning and she told me she takes the pods that are brown, removes them and places them in a brown bag until the spring and then removes the seeds in the pods and plants them! I didn’t know to do this so now have secured some brown pods, putting them in a brown bag and can’t wait to plant them next spring! She said wait until they are brown and don’t remove the green ones! Good to know. Hoping to have my very own Pride of Barbados plant next year! 09/07/2024
