It's hard to make bare facts entertaining so I'm not even going to try. File it under: really interesting if you care, painfully boring if you do not. Here's what's happening in Windstone real estate right now: Homes sold in April: One on the Ringgold side and three on the Ooltewah side. Prices for those sold ranged from $216,200-$544,00. All were single family homes. Days on the market for these homes was a very respectable 156. Not bad for this price range.  Currently for sale: Fifty-nine homes, three of which are townhouses. Prices range from $128,000-535,000. Twenty-three are in Ringgold leaving thirty-six in Ooltewah. Currently contingent or pending: Eight homes, all single family detached, ranging in price from $218,000-$338,500 (offered price, not necessarily the contract price)...

For those unacquainted with it, Windstone is a gargantuan subdivision that's so big it's in two states (no kidding).  It's close to Chattanooga, just down from the intersection of East Brainerd and Ooltewah-Ringgold Roads. Built around a golf course, this is some gorgeous real estate with winding streets here and there. Ival Goldstein Properties is developing a new-ish subdivision within a subdivision. Snow, oh snow falling from the sky full of freshness and light.  I cannot believe it; I heard it.  I really did.  I rushed out to my front door and see a beautiful white haze swirling down from the sky and I feel encouraged and hopeful.  I have always loved snow and I miss seeing it here in Tennessee.  Tonight I have my wish if only for a little while.  Yes, I know all of you in REAL snow country will laugh, but, hey, you take what you can get and we don't get much to take here.  I plan to stay up all night and just watch it and enjoy the peace.  Hey snow; COME ON DOWN!!!!

The once little town of Ooltewah Tennessee is growing in leaps and bounds as evidenced by this line of traffic and a full parking lot at the recently opened Wal-Mart.  During the real estate growth years, subdivision after subdivision was opened and sold.  With that came more banks and services. There are now at least five banks located in Ooltewah.  The first liquor store opened a few years ago.  There is Curves, several doctors offices, a shiping service, 3 pizza shops and numerous other things opening every day.  Within a 2 mile radius there are now 3 sub shops and 3 dollar type stores.  Now we have also gottenour own Sherwin Williams paint store. I had twirled around the idea of opening an office since the day I became licensed.  For a year after I received my Broker's license I seriously toyed with it.  No time ever seemed like the right time and I was broke, but, I took the plunge--100foot free fall.  As it turned out I purchased 3 nice desks, 3 office chairs, a copier, coffee table and some miscellaneous chairs for about $800 from a company that was going out of business.  From there it was on to The Family Dollar Store and Southeastern Salvage.  Really.  I decorated my new office with odds and ends and unframed pictures from these places.  I used all of my HGTV education and painted frames and accent pieces.  When I was done everyone said that I had a showplace.  I was very proud of that office and it proved something once ...

Since the recent announcement that Volkswagon is coming to Enterprise South, it seems that there is a buzz of activity locally.  For those of you thinking about relocating to the Chattanooga, Tennessee area, there will be many new things to look forward to and an electricity in the air. ACE is the place, so it is said and in Ooltewah Tennessee it surely is.  No one can live in the immediate area and not pay regular visits to Ace.  Even with the big  super stores nearby there are products and services that you can only get at Ace.  For example; seeds by the pound, nuts and bolts and screws by the piece.  You can also get screens repaired, keys made, glass cut and paint matched and mixed.  They carry everything from clothing to cleaning supplies to lumber to mulch and lawnmowers.  Sometimes I enjoy going there even when I don't need anything because it is just fun to look around.  In Spring I can't resist going to pick up my obligatory tomato and pepper plants.  I know that it is a chain, but, it still feels like a mom and pop throw back to Mayberry!
