Yep, that's right sports fans. Last night (Thursday, Feb. 5th) Tennessee (UT) women's basketball Pat Summitt's Lady Vols beat Georgia 73-43 and gave Coach Summitt her 1,000th career win. Coach Summitt being showered by her team after win number 1,000 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Coach Summett has coached the Lady Vols in 1,187 games to date. Won 1,000 and lost 187; that's an impressive won-lost percentage. But even more impressive is the fact that 100% of her players that have played out their eligibility at UT have graduated and received a degree! That's right, a 100% graduation rate. As if being the only coach, male or female, to ever win 1,000 games AND and have all her student athletes graduate she's racked up a few more awards and accolades during her 35 year long career: 14-time SEC C...

This Saturday, the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama rolls into Knoxville to face the University of Tennessee Volunteers. In my honest opinion, this is the premier rivalry in the SEC. From the heartbreaking Volunteer loss to Alabama (27-7) on October 20, 1962 at the dedication game of Neyland Stadium to this the 91st meeting of these two school's storied athletic histories. Though the Volunteers are having a difficult season this year, to put it mildly, these types of rivalries can often bring out the inner beast in players. You have Philip Fulmer and 16 starters from last year on the Volunteers' team who will be defending Neyland Stadium, the third largest college stadium in the country. Ready for the challenge is Nick Saban's Crimson Tide. Rolling into Knoxville sitting at #2...

Delightful duplex located under 2 miles from the University of Tennessee. Upstairs unit is rented for $625 per month, downstairs is rented for $425. You can get there either by car on Sutherland Avenue to Kingston Pike/Cumberland Avenue or pedal down the tree shaded Third Creek Greenway/Bike Path.    A savvy investor could rent both units for a positive cash flow or parents could put one of their student/children in one unit and let the other make part of the payments. Nice condition with hardwood floors and tile in the upstairs unit. Call Jim Lee at 1-865-693-3232 or email Jim@JimLee.com See all Knoxville area Realtor listings at www.KnoxvilleHomeCenter.com

. Knoxville is the home to the Universtiy of Tennessee at Knoxville! The university was founded as Blount College in 1794, two years before Tennessee became a state. In 1879 the name was changed to the University of Tennessee! Since it became designated in 1869 as the land grant universtiy in Tennessee, it has been growing by leaps and bounds. The University of Tennessee now operates campuses across the state: The medical campus, University of Tennessee at Memphis 1911 (originally founded in Nashville in 1879) University of Tennessee at Martin 1927 (originally a private institution founded in 1900) University of Tennessee at Chattanooga 1969 (originally a private institution) The Space Institute 1964 (near Tullahoma, Tennessee) The Univerity of Tennessee has been recognized as one of th...
