Sometimes common sense seems to interfer with the logic. When a home buyer ask for rotted wood to be replaced and the seller agrees, what is the proper way to replace rotted wood ? I would agree that the rotted wood is to be removed and replaced, while others seem to think covering it with metal is a satisfactory repair. The logic behind replacing the rotted wood is to make a repair vs to hide the rotted wood behind the metal in hopes nobody will see it ( Including the appraiser ) The listing agent in this case tells me that they spoke to three seperate contractors here locally and they agree with wrapping the rotted wood is the best solution.
