Oconee Heritage Center Has New Curator

Leslie White has been named the new curator of the Oconee Heritage Center. The Oconee Heritage Center, at 123 Browns Square Drive in Walhalla, opened in 2004 and boasts exhibits of Oconee County, and offers education programs, festivals and other social events intended to promote the area’s history. The Oconee Heritage Center will be celebrating it's 5th Anniversary on Friday, September 25 at the 5th Annual Harvest Moon Gala. The Oconee Heritage Center is housed in the historic Tobacco Warehouse (1892) and first opened in 2004. The center is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as by appointment and for special programs or events.
