My daughter is of a different religion, but we share the same God.  On MY Easter Sunday (I am Greek Orthodox), she got baptized in the Ocean, embracing Jesus as her savior. After immersing herself in bible study for well over a year now, she felt sure that she wanted to take this major step.  When she announced that she will be baptized during my Easter celebration, I wholeheartedly gave her my blessings.  It was so extraordinary to me that her Baptism occurred on one of my most favorite religious celebrations - Easter.   She is now 15 years old.  I embraced my religion around the same time.  I am Greek Orthodox mostly because that was the only religion available to me in my native Romania and because my grandmother, who was my spiritual mentor, is Greek Orthodox.   In Communist Romania... 04/28/2008

We have a great gadget on our website, at http://www.myrtlebeachhomes.us/ that will help you determine the current value of your home.  Just click on the "Home Price Index", a tab located on the left side of the screen.  It is very user friendly; just put in the name, address, zip code, etc.  It will ask you when you purchased your property and for how much, then click submit, and voila:  you will have instant gratification.  Although it is not quite as accurate as a Realtor evaluation, or an appraisal, it will at least give you a ball park figure.  I checked some of my properties' values, and they were right on the money for the purpose of a refinance, although, with our stagnant market, in order to sell we would look at lower prices that the true value.  It is a Buyers' market right n... 01/14/2008

I hate to vent my problems with finances on here, but it helps relieve tension. I had a decent 2007, but not good enough to keep from losing my home. I still carry a positive attitude! First my better half is diagnosed with cancer, next the heat goes out in the unit and then the air goes out! What else can possibly go wrong I say? Bank calls once a week and says we are calling about this payment, this payment and this one. I say, well if I could pay you would not be foreclosing would you? I then tell them that health and family is more important at this time. One lady actually started crying and had to go. She was one of the few! We can thank those ARM's for all this mess.
