Well tonight was the first practice of my soccer team.  I am the "head coach" of my daughter's 3 year old soccer team.  It was trully organized chaos and more importantly it was a blast.  We worked on passing and shooting.  Most of the time we talked about expectations and what to expect.  Our first game is this Saturday morning in Lexington.I have a great group of kids and parents.  If you want to take in a game and enjoy some fellowship send me an email at MikeCoppney@remax.net and I will send you directions.  Our goal is to have fun on Saturday.  So stay tuned...

On January 5th of this year I gave birth to our second baby boy, Jacob Ryan Buol. He is a beautiful, sweet healthy baby and we are so proud of him. However, I was not fully prepared for how drastically things would change going from one child to two. Just running to the store has become ten times harder! When Bailey was a baby and still in his baby car seat I could still go grocery shopping. Now, Bailey sits in the front and the car seat takes up the whole basket! So unless I am only going for a few things there is no point. At first, my mother-in-law was not comfortable taking both boys at the same time. She has her own son (he is 24 but has a severe form of autism) and it was like taking care of three children all at once. So, I started taking Jacob to work with me. He sits in classes...

The Lexington Town Council approved an ordinance that would effectively ban registered sex offenders from moving to Lexington. The council made its decision after a favorable opinion from the state attorney general. The ordinance would also prevent sex offenders from living or loitering within 2,000 feet of schools, churches, parks, playgrounds and other sites where children might gather. State Attorney General Henry McMaster says the rule would likely stand up if challenged in court. Click Here for more video about this story.

This is a true story.A White woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a Black man.Obviously disturbed by this, she called the air Hostess."Madam, what is the matter," the Hostess asked. "You obviously donot see it then?" she responded. "You placed me next to a Blackman. I do not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnantgroup. Give me an alternative seat." "Be calm please," the Hostessreplied. "Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will goto see if another seat is available."The Hostess went away and then came back a few minutes later."Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats inthe Economy class. I spoke to the Captain and he informed me thatthere is also no seats in the Business class. All the same, westill have one seat in the First class."...

This is a quiz for people who know everything! I found out in a hurry that I didn't. These are not trick questions. They are straight questions with straight answers.1. Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?3. Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. What are the only two perennial vegetables?4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside?5. In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe, and the bottle is genuine; it hasn't been cut in any way. How did the pear get inside the ...

I enjoy living in a small town where everyone waves at you when you pass by (yes, an actual wave not the one fingered salute!), where people will let you pull out in front of them into traffic (EVERYTIME), and where you have multiple ways of knowing you business neighbor. No, I'm not describing Mayberry - but it's close! I'm describing Lexington, SC where sweet tea is the preferred belly washer at most restaraunts and smiling faces greet you on every corner. One of our biggest attractions is Lake Murray. Here is some history behind our beautiful lake:  Lake Murray, named in honor of chief engineer William S. Murray, was completed in 1930 and is owned by SCE&G. It covers approximately 78 square miles of land and provides electricity for South Carolina's entire Midlands region. Originally...
