Real Estate for Sale in Charleston, SC with marsh view $340,000 Charleston, SC, a city based on southern charm, is filled with all types of homes.  From historical mansions to "everyday" homes, to resort properties, to investment properties, Charleston offers all sorts of real estate. Outsiders may not yet understand the desireable characteristics of "the lowcountry".  Charleston is called the "lowcountry" because the elevation of most of Charleston is of course sea level.  The coastal area is filled with "marsh", the area between the coast (or shoreline) and the land, filled with a reed plant. At first sight, the marsh may look drab and not becoming.   After growing accustomed to life in the lowcountry, the marsh becomes a source of beauty, representing calm, serenity, and new life.  T...

March 13, 2011...a day that I have marked on my calendar in red.  Southwest Airlines will start air travel service to Charleston, South Carolinathat day.  Low cost or discount airlines have been here before...Air Tran even but none stayed.  Flying in and out of the Lowcountry has been expensive.  Our economy depends on our much loved tourists and affordable transportation is the key. So thank you Southwest for coming to my beaches and enjoying my restaurants.  I appreciate your presence and will promise to fly with you whenever I can.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results... What are you doing over and over that isn't working for you? Do you think one can recognize there own circle making?  Dogs can't relax without circling before they hunker down so maybe we have a bit of dog in us!  It's tough to let go of our ways.  Even if the results are zero.   Lets say you want to sell your home.  You contact an agent.  Discuss pricing, staging, curb appeal, and marketing.  You take none of the agents advice but for some reason the agent agrees to list your home.  You don't sell.  You let that agent go and hire a different agent after discussing pricing, staging, curb appeal, and marketing.  Again, agent agrees to list and you don't agree to any advice offered, you don't sell.  Agen...

Bahama House in Charleston, SC - Speechless Sunday Bahama House is just the name I gave this property !  I'm no authority on naming houses downtown Charleston, but when I stumbled across this home with colorful shutters and  is very narrow, I thought of the Bahamas.     The Bahama House is located in one of the oldest of areas in historic Charleston, dating back to 1730.  At that time, owners were taxed on the width of their homes, so homes were designed to be narrow.   This home is not for sale, that I know of.  I can show you ANY home listed in the Charleston MLS.  So bookmark this page and call me when you are ready to talk Charleston real estate.  Search the Charleston MLS with no registration. Houses for Rent to Own in Charleston SC: You want to buy a house but you’ve heard that it is almost impossible to get a loan these days. Since the foreclosure boom the lenders have done much to tighten up their lending practices so only those that seem most able to repay the loans are granted the money to purchase a home. That’s no reason to give up hope of ever owning your own home, though. The possibility is still there if you want to go in a less traditional way. Investors have homes just waiting for those that would like to buy a house beginning with a rent to own situation. The alternative route to home ownership includes a way for you to put money away for a down payment while renting the house you will eventually buy. While you live in a home and settle into it, a portion of your...

Look no further for something fun to do this weekend! Art, conservation, and outdoor sporting events mean there is something for everyone regardless of age or gender. "Close to 400 artists and exhibitors will have items on display beginning Friday.  Several new events are planned, but don't worry many of the old favorites are returning like the dock dog diving and birds of prey flight demos.  Officials say beyond just a good time the event has an important message behind it." I love seeing the Birds of Prey Flight Demo, the Retriever Demonstration, and the Dock Dog Finals.  But if you love cooking that can't be missed. And what youngest doesn't enjoy a good puppet show!   The weather predicts 70's and sun so enjoy the outing!   Official Site: http://www.sewe.com/

I have long heard rumors of a facelift for the Charleston Crosstown (HWY 17 across the peninsula, connecting Mt P, Downtown & West Ashley/James Island).  This is an area that gets a lot of TV time during our heavy rainstorms at high tide because of the foot of water that collects on the roadway, stranding unwitting motorists.  On an average day, it is a rather nondescript pass through over and into downtown.  However, it is the gateway into downtown Charleston, the first impression to our many wonderful visitors who support a large part of our service industry and drive our economy.   Thus, the news this morning that the Crosstown is going to get a facelift, but not an actual drainage improvement is not all bad news.  The truth of the matter is that the money is not there for our 10-yea...
