"She has passion for life and everyone she meets and every goal she is working for. She really knows deep down what a milestone in your life buying or selling your home is and she wants to be a part of that process with you. She really does care. When I decided to purchase my new place, I'd have been crazy not to have called her.  She met all of my high expectations...but that wasn't a surprise.  It was anticipated.  Bottom line, Maria Rocks!Do yourself a favor and call her right now.And for all of my military family out there...I lived by the Core Values for 20 years.  Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.  Maria's got those in the bag."V/R  Myles McLemore  USAF, MSgt (Retired)

I had the opportunity to take a brief holiday down to Fort Lauderdale. As I was in the ocean looking back at the beach, I saw the lifeguard beginning to close up her area for the night. In Fort Lauderdale, the lifeguards don't simply have a high chair, but more of a small hut on stilts. It probably took her about 10 minutes to close up everything before she could leave for the night, but as I was watching her, I wondered how much preparation is needed to be a lifeguard  at the beach. Obviously being a lifeguard at the beach is more difficult than at the local community pool, but I was surprised to find out how competitive it is and that the pay rate can be between $16-$20 per hour, which isn't too bad for seasonal work. As I watched the lifeguard continue to wrap up for the night, I tho...

Many people understand the benefits of real estate investing (which I've highlighted here), but with all the easy avenues for investing in the stock market, investing in real estate is somehow still thought of as a game only for the rich. With stocks, while there are many rules and regulations which govern them, people can simply have money withheld from their paycheck to be deposited into their 401k or 403b. The most work they will do on the management side of their stocks is choosing which funds to initially invest in, and maybe doing a once-a-year review. Prospectus? 10-Q? That's for the fund manager to worry about, they say.  And while most people over 25 know that the stock market won't continue it's upward climb forever, many are overly cautious about getting into real estate inve...

We've all seen social media shares of someone finding a wedding ring and through the power of networking finding the rightful owner. We even have sites like this to help lost and found pets reunite with their owners. I had never been a personal witness to the power that social media has - until yesterday.    The Hanover Area Jaycees are a local group of younger people ages 21-40 who focus on leadership training and civic responsibility. Every year for the past 76 years they have hosted the annual Hanover Halloween Parade that goes through downtown Hanover on the last Thursday of October. The parade consists of local dignitaries, area marching bands, and local businesses with floats. It's about a mile long overall and begins at 7:30 at night. The big feature of the parade is that the ...

There are 4 key benefits of adding real estate to your investment portfolio. Often times people become so fixated on contributions to their 401k that they fail to realize there are other options. Sure, they hear the ads about investing in gold and silver, and maybe even receive in the mail two "free" tickets to an upcoming real estate buying workshop in the nearest big city, but too many people believe that real estate investing is for the rich elite - the people behind the LLC, INC, LP, et al. But I can assure you that real estate investing is available to most anyone who is willing to put forth a little effort. And when I say real estate investing, I'm not talking about a REIT. I'm talking about a tangible, reach-out-and-touch-it, actual structure. Cash FlowThis is the equivalent of t...

Most kids will tell you that Halloween is one of their favorite holidays. Of course, the truth is that many adults love decorating and getting their homes into the spirit as well. With the following tips, you can make your home a Halloween-friendly setting that brims with seasonal charm. 1. Pumpkins and GourdsYou don't have to be a crafty do-it-yourselfer to ramp up the Halloween charm of your home's exterior. Add pumpkins and gourds of various shapes and sizes to your front steps in order to improve your house's seasonal curb appeal. If you don't enjoy carving pumpkins, you can simply paint your pumpkins to reflect spooky faces. Use glow-in-the-dark paint to create eerie eyes and add other simple accents to your pumpkins with odds and ends from around your home. 2. Front Door WreathA s...

Some years ago the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) engaged Tom Morris, Ph.D., to be a speaker at NAR's national convention. His talks -- tucked in among sessions dealing with marketing, sales techniques, and listing presentations -- were out of the ordinary, to say the least. But they were relevant then and they are just as relevant today. Morris is, of all things, a philosopher, and a respected one at that. He taught fifteen years at Notre Dame, where he was widely-acknowledged to be the most popular teacher on campus. Now, as head of the Morris Institute for Human Values, he is a much sought-after speaker and consultant for businesses and corporations throughout the country. The title of his talk to the REALTORS®, reflecting his grounding in the classics, was "If Aristotle Sol...

When you want your space to stand out sometimes regular blinds just won't cut it. Your living space is warm and inviting, or bright and energetic, and adding regular or faux wood blinds feels a little too ordinary. You need a little more character, a little more texture, or you want to add some color to your window treatments. This is a perfect time to consider adding roman shades for a classy, modern accent to any room in your house. Why Roman ShadesRoman shades, also known as roman blinds, are window coverings used to block out intrusive sunlight while giving your living space a modern look. But unlike standard blinds, these are fabric treatments, which stack up evenly at the top of the window when pulled open. When they are down, they're flat or hobbled, and their fabric is typically ...

Stopped by a quite park in Hanover, Pa today. Even with the heat index being (105)what it was it still felt OK under the trees! And there where a few people out enjoying the afternoon ! Looks like the park was created when 2 family's donated the land to the Lions Club of Hanover. I can't find a date but that really makes little difference. The township placed the play equipment in 1976 . Happy that the Forney and Young family left this for all of us to enjoy.Young Woods is a small park with some playground equipment for the kiddos. And 4 large pavilions with multiple picnic tables. Charcoal grills are beside each pavilion for your use. I could just imagine the charcoal smell !! Great place for a company party, reunion, or just a family get together. You need to contact Penn Township for...

Car break-ins have been occurring in Haines Acres, Fayfield, and Yorkshire.  This post to inform you that your vehicle and personal belongings are in jeopardy! The criminals have already hit 40-50 vehicles and do not show signs of slowing down as more cars were burglarized this week. What are the police doing about this?I called the Springettsbury Police Department and spoke with Sergeant Wilbur.  Sergeant Wilbur informed me that the department has additional cruisers patrolling the area over night and that they have more cops in plain clothes on foot in hopes of apprehending the assailants.  They have some  I asked how I could help them stop these criminals from striking again and I was told to share the following things.1. Lock your car, most of the cars were unlocked.2. Remove valuabl...

As I was paying my water bill, I decided to read over the York Water Companies water quality report.   It was reassuring that the reports that the water company provided were very detailed and gave accurate readings for various chemicals that are found in the water and how they treat the water to remove the contaminates.  It also gives us a look at the actual contamination levels for each of these chemicals.  The report is analyzed down to parts per million or PPM on the report. I have added a link to the York Water Company's Annual Drinking Water Report for you to review.  I hope you find the information as satisfying as I did. Best regards,Coal InfantinoColdwell Banker (717) 676-5545

Independence Day or more commonly known as the 4th of July celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence back on July 4th, 1776.  This is when the Continental Congress declaring that the 13 colonies would no longer answer to British rule.  The colonies actually agreed to this on the 2nd of July but the Declaration was not finished and signed until the 4th, some early signers of the Declaration of Independence believe that we should have used the 2nd and not the 4th as the actual date of acknowledgment. For me this holiday seems to get lost in the fireworks, barbecue and back yard parties.  We have some how forgotten about the brave men who fought this war.  These men were fighting with minimal supplies and often cloth for shoes through the heart of the rigid winter.  A war ...
