Looking for a home for two families? Consider an in-law suite

As our parent's age, it's harder and harder with both husband and wife working to check in physically to see how our parents are doing. To create the best of both worlds and have peace of mind, some families are opting to either build an addition, or convert a garage into an in-law suite. An in-law suite will have a bath, a kitchen, a separate entrance and a bedroom so that the privacy and independence of both parties is retained. In other words, separate and self sufficient but within the same dwelling. I know nothing would make me happier than if I could have my mom just a few steps away for a cup of tea every day, a hug, and great conversation.
