Could be as much as 30% of the cost of the project up to $1,500. And the “green” tax credit also covers installation costs for See MainLinePaToday for additional information about Green Tax Credits and how Pennsylv...

In June, I had the chance to attend the US 422 Corridor Master Plan Update Public Meeting held at the  Spring Ford Senior High School in Royersford. "The US 422 Corridor Master Plan will provide a long-term vision for the future land use and transportation system of the area." The planning area actually covers parts of three counties: Chester, Montgomery, and Berks, with all expecting future growth of between 22% and 25% by 2030.  Anyone traveling Rt 422 today recognizes the need to update and renew the existing infrastructure as well as expand and plan for the future. Future transportation/ growth and the associated funding options can take many paths.  The focus of the meetings was on sustainability.   Based on past surveys, solutions focused on Mixed-Use Development, Revitalized Olde...

This is the beginning of a new series I decided on today as I was driving around that there are masses of places I like, that you may not have tried.  Some are restaurants and cafes, some are stores, some are just cool places like the Philadelphia Museum of Art, always worth a visit. Today I discovered a really cool little place to eat. Gateway Shops just off the 202 and 252 supposedly Wayne but more like Devon and really close to Chesterbrook is a place I like to hang out. it has cool shops and cafes aplenty. It is one of those places that is a raging success, always busy with some anchor stores like Staples, TJMaxx and of course Trader Joe's. I was walking along and discovered this nice little place for a bite to eat. It does not look much, how many of the best places to eat look like...

July 4th 2009 Fireworks, Parades and Fun in the Chester County Main Line Pa Area The 4th of July is the traditional start of Summer,  in Philadelphia and the Western Suburbs of Chester County, Montgomery County and Delaware County. There will be many back yard picnics a few parades and some spectacular Fireworks displays for you to enjoy. I’ll be taking my best ever “secret recipe” deviled eggs to a party. Actually, I just make them the way my Mother did with a little pinch of this and that (except for the hot sauce and curry). But they really are the best ever! Everyone likes to call their Fireworks the best ever. What do you think? Do you have a family fav? *Philly 4th Fun, Fireworks and Parade – Philadelphia offers a week long celebration beginning June 25th with The July 4th Parade ...

emorial Day Fun For May 2009 will include many back yard picnics throughout the areas of the Philadelphia Main Line and Western Suburbs of Chester County, Delaware County and Montgomery County. As a youngster, I recall going to  Woolworth’s Five and Dime Store to buy some flags (2 for a nickel) to line the path to our front door.  Flags were intertwined with some beloved rose bushes that made our Philadelphia Twin Style home look very grand! *Monday 5/25/2009 Radnor Memorial Day Parade begins at 9:45am “Rain or Shine” at 150 N Radnor Chester Road and proceeds West on Lancaster Avenue with a Memorial Day Ceremony at the corner of Aberdeen and South Wayne following the Parade. The Real Estate Blame Game Moves On To Appraisers The Real Estate “Blame Game” has become our current national sport.  So far, we’ve raked the Buyers, the Realtors and the Brokers and the Mortgage Companies over the coals.  This week we’re moving on to the Appraisers and legislating the free flow of information. As of May 1, 2009 there will be new property Appraisal guidelines but not everyone agrees that we need new Appraisal guidelines as reported in the Wall Street Journal yesterday. If it’s not the Realtors and the Broker’s fault for pricing and marketing real estate for what it would sell for, then maybe it’s the Appraisers “fault” for appraising the property according to the then existing market activity of what buyers were willing clamoring to pay for property. Of course there is...

Chester County Pennsylvania~A Walk In The Park Spring and the official  Vernal Equinox, arrives March 20th 2009, and not a minute too soon, in my opinion, and yours too I imagine. These charming Johnny Jump Ups can be found along a path as one of our earliest signs of Spring together with Crocuses and Forsythia. Even in December if it’s warm, but not this year.  If planted in a protected area, they’ll often reseed themselves. A visit to the  Philadelphia Museum of Art is a great way to begin your Spring walking.   Cezanne and Beyond - A Century of Great Artists Philadelphia Museum of Art – You will see more Cezanne and the artists Cezanne influenced, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art than if you went to Paris up to May 17th. This is an outstanding opportunity. Adults $14, Seniors $12, C...
