Gettysburg Pa offers an Art Deco Look on the Battlefield Okay, so you are headed to Gettysburg Pa, you are gonna spend some time on Gettysburg Battlefield, walk around the quaint town that makes up Historic Gettysburg Pa. You are primed for Civil War history to come at you at a fast and furious pace. You head down Confederate Ave, admiring the Gettysburg historic homes that line the lane on the Battlefield and then it hits you.....what is that. You are now looking at the best example of Art Deco architecture in Gettysburg Pa. What you are seeing is the Gettysburg Armory building. Built in 1938, and designed by John Hamme, it is a beautiful combination concrete, brick and asphalt.
