The Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge will be closed to all traffic for four consecutive days, May 19-May 22, 2023. Work crews will perform a complete replacement and adjustment of the counterweight ropes.A big project with a big impact on traffic. More detailed information on the closure is available from the Port of Hood River.Originally constructed in 1924, the bridge is beyond its design life, obsolete, and insufficient for modern vehicles and marine freight. The Hood River County average sales price was $451,700 and the median sales price was $375,000 during January 2020. The average square footage of the sold homes was 1,851, with a median of 1,570 square feet. The Average Days on Market (DOM) was 64 days, with a Median DOM of 55 days.  The average sale price was approximately 14.7% less than the average original list price during January 2020 for Hood River County. The Hood River Bridge will have single-lane closures on January 31, 2020.  The closure is due to repair inspections of the guardrails. The single-lane closures will begin at 9am and last until the repairs are completed.Plan accordingly and expect minimal delays (10-15 minutes) with traffic backups. Flaggers will be assisting drivers as they proceed through the work zones.
