Last weekend, the City of Wilsonville, Oregon hosted the Grand Opening of the Wilsonville Community Garden, which is dedicated space at the end of Kolbe and Schroeder Lanes in the heart of the city. Individual plots in the Community Garden are now available for Wilsonville residents to plant their own gardens. There are 32 garden plots and 8 raised beds available in the Wilsonville Community Garden. Plot reservation fees range from $12 to $16 for raised beds. Gardeners are asked to maintain their plots or raised beds regularly. Plots that go unattended (i.e. overgrown weeds, unharvested, etc.) for more than two weeks may be reassigned. The Wilsonville Spokesman community newspaper recently reported that the West Linn-Wilsonville School District recently sold $98 million worth of bonds for future district development. Once the bonds mature, the school district will have more than $99.7 million to spend on the new primary school planned for the Villebois community in Wilsonville, Oregon, as well as an array of other projects that were approved by the school board last fall, including the renewal of a four-year operating levy worth nearly $8 million annually.
