It was an unusually beautiful morning in Depoe Bay, Oregon today. This is a photo of waves crashing through the blowhole on the sea wall along Highway 101.This weekend will be a busy time for me, I will be volunteering at the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival Ambassadors Booth. Looking forward to an already "rip roaring" fun time in the next three days!!

There are many reasons to live in Depoe Bay on the Oregon Coast!Depoe Bay Living - Please let me know if you are interested in seeing Depoe Bay homes for sale or other Oregon Coast homes for sale. Here are just a few reasons why we like it here: Our family is lucky enough to have one of the great Little Whale Cove homes in Depoe Bay.  The claim to have World’s Smallest Navigable Harbor is one of Depoe Bay's many attractions. Located in Lincoln County, Oregon this wonderful whale watching community is loaded with things to do and sites to see. Our family enjoys the whale watching the most. Grey whales move from Alaska to warmer waters closer to Mexico during late December through the first week in January. From mid March to the end of May the whales migrate back to Alaska from Mexico. Th...

The daytime becomes a deep twilight, and the suns corona shimmers in the darkened sky. The best place to view at the Oregon coast will be between Newport and Lincoln City, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 21, 2017. The eclipse will last for a total of about two minutes starting at 10:15 am. The photo above is Depoe Bay, about halfway between Newport and Lincoln City. Depoe Bay will experience a full total eclipse! Many of our hotels and vacation rentals are already booked, however, I understand that 1000 new campsites will be added on April 19, at various parks throughout Oregon. For more information on eclipse camping, call the OPRD information line at 1-800-551-6949.  From what I have been reading, there will be a 60-mile wide path of totality - that is when the mo...

.....Just around the corner from an ocean view townhouse, (list price is under $170,000.00! No homeowners fees!) is this great beach access trail to my favorite Depoe Bay public bench! Here is the trail, which meanders through shore pines atop the basalt rock. By the way,  basalt rock is what you want under your foundation instead of sand! The cliffs are high enough to be out of tsunami zone. Here we are, atop the basalt rock cliffs. Can you hear the waves crashing? The shore birds are flying above us, swooping in to catch fish. Welcome to my world! This will be my lunch bench when I come back for inspection of the property located right around the corner, found for my out of area buyers.  This bench is soon to be a favorite destination when walking from their new beach house... Would y...

Sunny day view from deck! THIS HOUSE!! THIS BEACH!! Manufactured home, built in 2000, 1865 square foot, qualifies for VA financing, has tie downs, new 130mph roof, short distance to beach access, unobstructible whitewater view from master bedroom and living room, kitchen. Completely remodeled interior, clean and fresh. Tidy low maintenance landscaping. Low traffic beach access, even in summer.  Lots of full time residents as neighbors. Quiet, cul-de-sac with ample parking for guests. No HOA. Best buy in Lincoln County in my opinion. I have viewed all manufactured and site-built available ocean view homes under $250,000 and this one is my favorite. This is not my listing. I do not represent the seller, I previewed this home for a buyer.  Unfortunately, buyer had a change of relocation pl...

This time of year there is a great deal of activity on the Oregon Coast.  Cities up and down the coast are experiencing one of those endless Summers. Newport was in the high 80's all the way up North to Seaside which is located up the coast from Cannon Beach. It was all warm. The children are back in school and I'm dreaming of family day at the beach building sandcastles. Many of the homes we're showing to buyers have good fantastic views of the activity out on the water. The range is broad and spans from wildlife such as birds and whales to fishing boats and even storm watching is a respected activity. The community of Little Whale Cove is a friendly gated development. Selected as one of the 99 best recreational and private planned communities in America. It is located South of Depoe B...

This picture is taken from Otter Crest Loop off Highway 101. The North Coat Highway (101) is scenic and historic in many different ways. It is 1,540 miles long and extends through Washington State, Oregon and California. It was originally created in 1926 to link the Spanish missions, pueblos and presidios. I recently showed property out on the Oregon Coast and was fortunate to experience many whale sightings and enjoy some fresh seafood. There are some great waterfront properties available and I'm particularly fond of the neighborhood called Little Whale Cove   FOR SALE - Check Out CURRENT Listings     Oregon Coast Homes   Prices for real estate on the Oregon Coast are all over the map. They range from $100,000 to a million. We typically go to Cannon Beach which is considerably North o...

My wife and I are Thankful for 41 Years together.  We had the opportunity to take last week off, and enjoy our anniversary while watching the waves on the Oregon coast.  Due to the storm that moved through the first couple days we were there, we got to see some really great crashing waves.  The weather reporting station just a few miles south of us at Yaquina Head reported 98 MPH winds after we had gotten in and settled. Additionally, when the weather cleared we, were able to enjoy some spectacular sunsets. It was a great time away, mostly just relaxing, reading books, and watching the beauty of nature.  We did get in a couple of walks on nearby beaches - on two of the nicer days.

Ok, day two of the mini vacation with the wife for anniversary didn’t produce a picture of the resident whale in Depoe Bay as we had hoped. But, we did see a few sea lions a couple harbor seals and did have a heck a lot of fun. We started out our day heading out on a whale site seeing tour, we thought that would at least give us some shot of a whale. (But, no luck this time) Here are the pictures from today. But tomorrow we may have another shot at seeing the whale as we are going out on the ocean again for a 5 hour bottom fishing and crabbing trip. Follow me on twitter and maybe, just maybe we will be able to get some pictures of our catch. Samantha and I out on the whale watching boat in Depoe Bay This pictures was taken with the help of my wife as I hung out over the edge of the boa...

(Depoe Bay, Oregon)Barbi and I took our families out to the Oregon Coast this last week for the Tahoma and Kent School District's Spring Break. It was a fabulous time! We had two condominiums on Depoe Bay and although rainy for the first part of the week, there was plenty of sunshine "breaks" with a lot more sun for the weekend. We didn't want to leave!   Besides sightseeing... we did some coastal shopping at some great antique and junk stores... of course! I found a lovely piece of driftwood -- already varhished and mounted so I don't have to do it! Barbi and her boys collected a bunch of driftwood on the beach... get in on the fun... driftwood looks really earthy and nice in a beautiful arrangement or as a single "sculpture." I even saw it in a beautiful room display in the "House Bea...
