My initial 90 Day Challenge ended November 25th.  My Goal, set without much forethought and set at an ambitious number, was to lose 45 pounds in 90 days.My logic was that 1/2 a pound a day would be lofty goal.I posted a blog about starting and progress in the 90 Day Challenge that just ended and included a link to an attempt to lose weight that ultimately failed in 2010.  It has been my experience that losing weight after the age of fifty has been much harder than my experiences in losing weight when I was under forty.Though I did not meet my goal of losing 45 pounds in 90 days, I DID lose 42 pounds in 90 Days.  I lost 5.5 inches off my waist and 4 inches off my chest.  I have lost inches almost everywhere, even a notch on my watchstrap!  What impresses me most is the fact that I do not... 12/05/2012

I wrote a post yesterday noting that Google Chrome is now the number 1 web browser worldwide and asking what browsers people are using. Admittedly a very small sample size, but three people indicated they use Chrome primarily. Two people indicated they use IE primarily, and Five people (including me) primarily use Mozilla. Debbie Gartner, mentions some salient points: most computers come preloaded with IE (except Apple's that come with Safari).  Does this explain some of IE's popularity? the reason she use Mozilla, which is the same reason I do, is that Mozilla Firefox tends to work better with Active Rain.  I use Scribefire which is compatible with Mozilla (not sure about other browsers).  Could this be another reason Mozilla is used by AR users?. Protect yourself from West Nile virus (WNv) Multiple sources have predicted that the mild Winter of 2011/2012 will result in higher insct populations this Summer 2012. You can, proactively, reduce your risk of exposure to WNv by reducing standing pools of water (where mosquitoes like to breed). Remember to drain water from containers, tires, wading pools, wheel barrows and other items in your yard where standing water might collect. . Put screens on Rain Barrels, Change water regularly in Bird Baths (at least weekly). If you have a pond, whether a small man-made water feature or a large natural pond, consider attracting or adding natural mosquito larva predators rather than larvacides and other chemicals to kill the mosquito larva.
