Markham has a 3-bag garbage limit. Extra bags of garbage require a garbage tag. On No Tag Days you can place out extra bags of garbage out without the required tags. BREAKING NEWS - Canadian Federal Election to be Held on May 2, 2011 (Saturday, March 26, 2011, 9:15 am) At 9:15 am EDT this morning, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced that Governor General David Johnston has dissolved the Canadian parliament after a meeting at Rideau Hall, the Governor General's residence.  Yesterday morning, the opposition parties won a non-confidence vote in the government in the House of Commons. Why am I receiving a $67.41 rebate cheque from Bell Canada? On August 31, 2010, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission ("CRTC") ordered that Bell Canada rebate an amount to subscribers of certain home telephone products who were customers on August 31, 2010.  Over a number of years, Bell Canada was required by the CRTC to include an amount in its fees that would be used to improve services in some rural areas of Ontario and Quebec. In the August 31, 2010 ruling, the CRTC determined that the amount that had been collected and set aside for the technological improvements was more than what was required.  Therefore, it ordered a rebate. 2011 Water-Efficient Furnace Mounted Humidifier Rebates in Markham, Ontario The Regional Municipality of York has announced a rebate program for water-efficient furnace mounted humidifiers for eligible residents of York Region including the Town of Markham. The residential humidifier rebate program offers: $30 rebate for an approved, furnace mounted humidifier that sends 10 to 50 litres of water to the drain per day $70 rebate for an approved, furnace mounted humidifier that sends less than 10 litres of water to the drain per day There are a number of terms and conditions that must be followed.  Only eligible models qualify.  Purchases must be made between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011 and submission deadlines must be met.
