Staging in the Toronto and Vaughan area we stage in a modern or modern traditional way to attract our ideal buyers. When we stage in the King City and Alliston area it changes as it is more country with city/rural influences. When we arrived at this home the elderly owners had moved out the children showed us the furniture that was left at the house. We found this old desk out in the shed. It was in pieces so the daughter offered to put it back together again as it had been her desk.Investment, minimal.Impact, priceless. We work with every budget and whatever treasures we find at property.Call the Go To Girl around town when you want your property marketed to attract your ideal buyers.Michelle Finnamore Interiors Ltd.416.928.2999michelle@finnamoreinteriors.com

Home staging in the Alliston area we are known to be find economical solutions with our staging suggestions to market a home for sale.In this home the seller thought to attract buyers they might have to replace the dated kitchen cabinets which were a light oak colour.  We suggested that they replace the very worn and dated main floor  with commercial laminate, install a neutral light gray subway tile for a back splash in the kitchen and paint the walls a light gray called Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore. The final touch was to install simple, modern light fixtures to create a bright look in these darker days of the fall season.By doing this we saved time and money on smaller fixes to update the look of the kitchen cabinetry. It was all done in 10 days from the time of selecting the finishe...

When we are Home Staging in Alliston we love finding a home with a professionally finished back yard. Alliston is typically a commuter town and is considered a bedroom community by many so this home is a show stopper compared to the average home in town. To get away from it all you can visit Earl Rowe Conservation area which is actually on the west side of Alliston or you can live here at 21 Nunn with your own personal get away 3 steps outside your kitchen door. From an eating/grlling  area to a cozy conversation area to your own personal bamboo swing to read a book in, this back yard says welcome home! When you have a property ready to list call the Go To Girl around town. Michelle Finnamore Interiors Ltd. 416.928.2999

Alliston, New Tecumseth. South Simcoe Ontario   Alliston, New Tecumseth. South Simcoe Ontario   Why do people live here?   The North end of Alliston, New Tecumseth is a beautiful neighborhood of single family homes that is located north of Victoria Street and east of King street. Most of the residents here have put down roots here in order to bring their children up in an environment with a small town feel and yet still have all the conveniences of living in a larger town. Many people commute to “the big smoke” while lots of other families have members that work at the local Honda Plant or other industry, retail or professional careers.   Looking for a home in the north end of Alliston?   Give me a call or drop me an email and I would love to show you around.   What’s the neighborhood l...

Randy Greenman, owner/operator of Wray's Guardian Pharmacy (33 Victoria Street West) shared this video (converted from 8mm) of a drive down Victoria Street in Alliston circa 1989.  This predates my first visit to the town, in the early to mid-nineties to play in a Dart Tournament held at the Legion during Alliston's Annual Potato Festival.  I love these little blasts from the past, hope you do, too.     Many of the businesses have changed over the years, but there is a striking resemblance to present day Alliston.  I will try and re-create and share my version of Randy's stroll, circa 2013, in the next little while.

Its that time of year again. As winter approaches, we are entering another flu season. We can help reduce the spread of influenza through a proactive regimen including frequent good handwashing, covering our coughs and sneezes (or coughing into our elbows), staying home when sick, but the best way to prevent the spread of influenza is to get vaccinated every year. The influenza vaccine is recommended for everyone over the age of six months who is not allergic to the vaccine. A recent study showed that the influenza vaccine results in a reduction of 30,000 visits to hospital emergency departments, 1,000 hospitalizations and 300 deaths in Ontario alone. Upcoming Alliston Flu shot clinics will be held at: St John's United Church - Shilton Hall 56 Victoria Street East 705-721-7520 Alliston ...

More "opportunity time" this morning, and as you might know, if I happen to be near Alliston on a Saturday morning, I will stop by the local farmer's market. So this morning, in spite of the, at times, torrential rains, guess where I was? Helen had put in her order, and I picked up six bagels, still warm from the oven, a couple of strudels, and a spicy beef patty.  Our order from the Harvest Share program has us stocked for fruit and vegetables for the week, so I passed on their fine produce. If you happen to be near Alliston from 8 am until 2 pm, drop by the Alliston Farmer's Market located on Mill St. north of Victoria St.  Other offerings include Cat treats and Candles. When you visit, if you find yourself interested in this community or this area, call me, Chris Smith @ 1.866.936.35...

What browser do you use?  Since the inception of Google Chrome, it has quickly risen in popularity and has now reached #1 worldwide! During the seven day period May 14th to 20th, Google Chrome reached Number 1! With IE in #2, and Firefox in #3. In North America, IE was still #1 with Chrome in #2, and Firefox in #3. I personally use Firefox Mozilla for Active Rain, Facebook and news, preferring IE for general web searches, accessing my Real Estate Board, and Banking (an almost 50-50 split).  I have tried Google Chrome on occasion, but probably prefer Safari to Goggle Chrome at the present time.  It seems that, statistically, I am in the minority. Which is your favourite browser?

Circle Theatre in Alliston, a local landmark, operating since before World War II, on the South Side of Victoria Street has a new Owner, Kate Vander Zaag. Although I have never seen a movie at this local institution, my mother-in-law has seen many movies here with her friends over the years and has always enjoyed the experience. There is a place for theatres like this in the day of Giant IMAX multi-theatre complexes.  I think it was during a 2003 vacation during which we stayed for a while in Bozeman, MT, that Helen and I saw Seabiscuit at the Ellen Theatre on Main St.  The movie experience was enhanced because we saw it, soaking up the atmosphere that comes from being in a historical building. We will definitely support the Circle Theatre in Alliston when it re-opens. Closed since Octo...

It's a sunny warm beautiful spring day in Alliston, and I am on Duty... As I drove in to work at 8:30 a.m., I saw that Mill St. was closed for Alliston's Outdoor Farmer's Market, and that the stalls were already open. About noon, I thought I would stroll down the street and check out the fare.  Ro, from R&P Farms was there serving up Hot Dogs, 100% Pork Sausages and his famous Double Bacon Burger, a Peameal Bacon (Canadian Bacon) Burger topped with two slices of traditional Side Bacon. Guess what I chose? A fellow agent had bought an apple strudel and shared it with us.  It was great, full of apple with a hint of cinnamon.  I decided to buy one for Helen and Vi, they like good strudels. Also available were some vegetables and potted plants, as well as a number of other stalls.  Expect t...

Did you know that two-thirds of the world's lentils are grown in Canada?  Until this morning, I had know idea! Lentils are any of a variety of dried legumes that can be prepared many different ways.  They are found in many varieties, among them: red, yellow, green, brown and black. We all know that they are good for us, don't we?  But do you know just How Good? Regular consumption of lentils can contribute to lower cholesterol and triglycerides, reduce the risk of heart disease and have positive effects on blood pressure and blood sugar levels and in moderating insulin levels. These legumes are packed with protein, fibre, as well as beta-carotene, iron, zinc, selenium, and folate.  Because they are low in fat, with no saturated fat, and have no cholesterol, they are an excellent additi...
