This is a wonderful concept for several reasons. Most obvious is the fact you get to spend the day with a favorite furry friend by your side. But it also helps the dog. Spending time in a new environment with relative strangers (or even not-too-often-seen friends) can help socialize your pet, getting him used to new faces, smells, and experiences. So you want to become involved, but no one in your office seems aware of this day? Don't hesitate to approach your boss with the idea of bringing your dog, but make sure it's done ...

Dog lovers beware!  ActiveRain dog lovers include .... Toby and Sadie Jonathan and Tobey Elaine and Murphy Ginger and Bella.... Ginger and Bella... I can't use Ginger and Roger's ActiveRain profile page because I don't want anyone to confuse Roger and Bella.  Both Roger and Bella are adorable of course.  The list goes on....Jay and Daisy (Daisy's really Teresa and Boomer Jack's dog but they share Daisy with their neighbors.)  About 6:30 yesterday we were playing in our office backyard with the neighbor dogs. YOUR real estate office doesn't have a huge green backyard where the neighbors bring their dogs to play ball and frisbee?  Neighbor dogs, Popcorn (a bichon)  and Linus (a long tailed boxer mix... really a pretty wonderful, comical dog) were running around chasing a ball while their ...

I must admit I watched the parade from a front lawn of a house in the Village of Riverlea.  Riverlea is surrounded by Worthington and the Olentangy river. Bands from both Worthington Kilbourne and Thomas Worthington as well as the OSU Alumni Band and a bagpipe band were in the parade this year. There were a number of Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops, a swim club, pom pom girls and baton twirlers from Central Ohio in the parade. A video about Worthington Ohio* from Real Living starts at the Doll Museum at the Old Rectory on the corner of New England Ave.and Oxford Street in Old Worthington.     The Real Living Story talks a lot about Old Worthington which is a community treasure, but it is only a small part of the City of Worthington.  A previous entry here describes that historic neighborhood in some detail: A New England Village in Central Ohio     Most of Worthington is very walkable.  There are great shops and restaurants on High Street in Worthington.  There are community events on the green.  Other Worthington residential neighborhoods include:  Rush Creek Village  - a Worthington neighborhood of Usonian designed homes.  Written about in detail in the New York Times (may require a sign in)  and a San Dieg...

A Worthington Ohio Haunted House Remember the allure of ghost stories when you were a kid?  Remember being a kid and there was a house in town that everyone told stories about?  Stories that it was a haunted house. Or the people who lived there were "different" or spooky or scary?  Remember ..you'd creep up to the front door on a dare? Knock on the front door? Ring the bell? Play 'ding dong, ditch"?  The  really 'wild kids' threw rocks at the windows or pulled other pranks?     I'd  never heard the kids in Worthington considered a house on the south end of Worthington in the Davis Estate neighborhood "haunted."  I don't have children.  I wonder how many parents knew of their children's curiosity about the house at the edge of the cemetary.  When I heard the story in the news I thought "...

Worthington Ohio is a transplanted New England Village, settled by people from Connecticut.  Worthington is a Columbus suburb inside the 270 outerbelt. Worthington has a village green that is still used today, but cows do not graze there as they once did... (there are cows down the road but that's a different story... )  The village of Worthington was founded in 1803.                                                     The Old Rectory is on the corner of New England Ave. and Oxford Street NOW. It's been moved.  The Old Rectory is owned by the Worthington Historical Society now.          The Worthington Inn is still in use today as an Inn and an award winning restaurant. Soon the Worthington Inn will be residences, the Inn and an addition are going to be condominiums.       Worthingto...
