Wilson Bridge Road  That's the corner of Wilson Bridge Road and Worthington Galena Road... sort of a complex intersection.  Where East Wilson Bridge Road ends and Huntley Road begins. According to the Worthington.org site on this day in Worthington Ohio: "It is difficult to imagine the peaceful village of Worthington near the battlefront of a war with a foreign power, but some 175 years ago that was very much the situation. This frontier settlement was less than ten years old when U.S. and British trade disputes led Congress to declare war June 18, 1812"   Time goes on the Worthington Historical Society obviously penned that in 1987....  I had to look up what the War of 1812 was about.... who was fighting who for what.   I must have learned in school. Worthington's Walnut Grove Cemetery is 150 years old.  There is a celebration at the historic cemetery on Sunday June 7, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00. The cemetery is 5561 Milton Avenue in Worthington, Ohio.  Just north of the southern border of Worthington and the city of Columbus. Cemetery Road will take you to Milton Avenue or you can get to it from W. Lincoln Rd.The Walnut Grove Cemetary is adjacent to the Davis Estate neighborhood on the south end of Worthington.  Antrim Park is on the west side of Walnut Grove Cemetery. The Walnut Grove Cemetery had a float in the Worthington Memorial Day Parade this year. View Larger Map Kilbourne Village is just west of Old Worthington.  I believe  the land  where Kilbourne Village homes stand today would have been farm fields for early Worthington settlers.   Yep. According to the Worthington site the subdivision was built in 1957 to 1960 and was previously the Episcopal Church farm lot.  Worthington.org history of neighborhoods. View Larger Map "Location, location, location" is one of the best descriptions of the Worthingway neighborhood in Worthington Ohio . I've anchored the Google map here on Masefield Street the farthest west street in Worthingway.  The south end of the Worthingway neighborhood is Highgate which backs to Medick Estates. Worthingway is a pretty location.  Tucked back off of High Street but a lot of the appeal of the neighborhood that was built in the 1960's has for buyers and long term owners is the convenience to schools, Old Worthington, parks, the bike path and more.   Over the past couple of years most of the listings in the Columbus Board of Realtors multiple listing service say "location, location, location" in various ways:  "Across from the Parklands! 1 of Worthington's best locatio... 05/23/2009

Brookside Woods homes are in the Worthington School District... unless of course they are in the Dublin School District.   The school districts were minding their own business... the land was sitting there... or maybe there was corn or soybeans planted there... I did not move to the area until 1990, I am assuming that northwest Columbus area was rural in the late 70's... early 1980's... Brookside Woods is not the only City of Columbus neighborhood along Snouffer Road that some homes are in Dublin schools, other homes are in the Worthington school district. The school districts pre-existed the development of the area by the City of Columbus. There's the traditional Worthington Memorial Day Parade on Monday of course.  The route is west from Dublin Granville Road at Morning Street to High Street and south to the Walnut Grove Cemetery.  The Worthington Memorial Day parade starts at 10:00 A.M.The Worthington Memorial Day Parade is sponsored by the American Legion Leasure - Blackston Post 239 Worthington Ohio. I asked on another real estate blog  "What is Columbus Best Suburb?" with a poll.  I asked about Bexley, Dublin, Gahanna, Grandview Heights, Hilliard, Lewis Center, Marble Cliff, Minerva Park, New Albany, Riverlea, Upper Arlington, Westerville, Worthington, Powell and others.   I also allowed votes for Other: Two of the five other votes are for two City of Columbus neighborhoods... a vote for Clintonville says: "not a suburb but the best neighborhood CLINTONVILLE"   There's some neighborhood pride! The other "Other answer" votes?  Someone voted for a SE Columbus suburb. Someone voted "Other" for Powell which is on the list on the poll but did not get any votes.
