RISMEDIA, May 18, 2010-- Have you been thinking of investing in a foreclosed home? The game plan sounds simple enough: purchase a foreclosure at pennies on the dollar, cover the mortgage by renting the property to tenants, and then sell it at a tidy profit when the economy recovers. Unfortunately, when it comes to buying foreclosures, "things are not as simple as they appear," says Jim McClelland of Mack Companies, a Tinley Park, Illinois firm with a portfolio of 365 previously bank-owned homes under management.McClelland knows foreclosures: he buys two or three each week. Most of his homes are located in Chicago's south and west suburbs, such as Dolton, Olympia Fields, Homewood and Glenwood. Mack's in-house contractors redevelop these often badly run-down homes so that they can be re...

It also took into account statistics show that citizens have moved from Toledo more than have moved to Toledo every year over the past two decades, despite a below average cost of living. The list includes the top 20 miserable cities in the country, picked from the 200 largest metropolitan areas.  As well as Toledo, four other Ohio cities made the top 20 lis...

For those of you who use the Toledo Board of Realtors MLS have your realized that you cannot get all the information that we used to get on a real estate agent or a company? For instance, if I want to find a company, such as Danberry, and go to Search and look up Office and put in Danberry, nothing comes up.  So, I put in just D, nothing comes up for Danberry.  I just realized that it is The Danberry Company--and you have to go to T or The, etc.   Also, when I do get the information, it only gives me Danberry's name, phone number and each location--it does not give me their web site or email address. The same is somewhat true for a real estate agent.  I again would go to Search and look up User and then User Simple Search.  I get the agent's name, email address, work location, phone num...

Norm Eisen of Toledo, has proposed to open a trading center in the former Value City Furniture Store at the Great Eastern Shopping Center.  The Center will be named Stormin Normin, which will allow vendors to sell their goods.  Concerned were raised by the Plan Commission:"We already had a request like that, and it was turned down," said Bacon. "We don't want anything tacky or fly by night, with someone setting up card tables to sell their wares. But this is supposed to be a higher caliber shop." The Plan Commission has given approval, but with conditions, according to Kimberly Grames, the city's planning, zoning and economic development coordinator. "The Plan Commission approved a conditional use permit for one year," said Grames. Among the conditions: Eisen will have to report to the ...
