Another Successful Build The Walls Event at Christ's Church at Mason May 31 2014 We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for the annual Build The Walls Habitat for Humanity event!  The south parking lot of Christ's Church at Mason was filled with hundreds of people from single digit age all the way up to grandmom and granddad.  Hammers pounded and steadily as the morning worked into early afternoon, framed wall after framed wall for three LARGE homes were completed and added to the stacks ready to load on the semi trucks heading to Cookson Hills Christian Ministries in Oklahoma.   It's a good feeling to know that our efforts will help give children a safe place to call home for decades to come! Volunteers Still Needed for Mason Ohio Habitat For Humanity Event May 31 2014 Our church Christ's Church at Mason still has PLENTY of room for volunteers for tomorrow's Build The Walls event!  While there are almost 400 volunteers signed up as builders, we can use more!  This is truly a case of the more the merrier!  Do you need to be a master carpenter to help?  NO!!  Each build team is led by people that know enough to be dangerous :)   The overall effort is led by experienced builders who travel from church to church providing guidance.  And blueprints!  Basically each wall panel is already designed and printed out and each piece identified with an alphanumeric label.  We need 6 A4 pieces, 2 J9s, etc.   The blueprint shows the configuration and the spacing.   From there it's a matte...

What Happens At Closing For My New Mason Home? Ohio is what is known as a "wet closing" state.  Basically what this means is that all parties to the contract (buyers and sellers) meet with the title company's closing rep at the same time and sign off all applicable documents.  Everything takes place in one day and you walk away knowing you own a home!  The appointment is set at a mutually agreeable place and time (typically the title company or the real estate office of the buyer's agent).  Closing may be as fast as 30 minutes or as long as several hours depending on the number of questions asked, if there are any issues with the paperwork, delays in fund transfers, etc. Now there are the variations in everyone meeting at the same time, for instance when schedules conflict, very content...

When Can I Move In To My Mason Home? This is one of the key questions we have to resolve when we negotiate the purchase of your Mason home.  If it's new construction, it's whenever the builders finish (and that can shift a bit depending on weather conditions and other factors). Another Mason Ohio Home Sold In Village Lakes They're moving in right now!  Closing started at 10 a.m. this morning and before all the ink was even dry, the movers called!  They're a day earlier than scheduled bringing our buyers belongings up from Texas, so our happy buyers had to get over to their new Village Lakes home pronto! What "As Is" REALLY Means When Buying A Mason Ohio Home As a home buyer you've probably seen the phrase "As Is" and wondered exactly what that means.  Most commonly you'll see As Is associated with a foreclosed or short sale home.  Owners without enough money to pay the mortgage are generally NOT willing to spend dollars to make repairs.  And banks?  Don't get us started.... But if you decide to buy one of these As Is offered homes, does that mean you're "stuck" proceeding with the purchase no matter what?
