Will They Build More Patio Homes In Mason Ohio? When you're considering downsizing in Mason Ohio, a popular choice is a patio home.  However, one of the challenges is a relative scarcity of patio home communities.  Since most of the patio home communities are rather small, there may be very few patio homes actually for sale in Mason at a given time.  Add in a few other factors such as price, number of bedrooms, garage spaces, location and the selection may get to zero.  Finding a Mason patio home for sale for less than $250,000 can be a bit rare.So obviously there's a need for more patio homes in Mason for those empty nesters ready for the change.  However, there is resistance from some of the public to building new patio homes.  Perhaps it's due to misconceptions about the demographics...

What Are My Home Downsizing Options In Mason Ohio? The kids have left and they're off to be Bearcats, Buckeyes and Musketeers.  You've got a huge home and you don't walk in half the rooms for weeks at a time.  Frankly you just don't need all that space and lets not even get into mowing the grass and raking the leaves now that Junior has flown the nest. It's time.  Not necessarily a much smaller home, but a home puts the emphasis in the right places.  Maybe a home with a few less stairs.  A home that requires less upkeep.  What are your choices when you're ready to downsize your Mason home? You can literally downsize to a home that is smaller. Less square footage, fewer bedrooms.  Less to keep up with. You can choose a Mason ranch home (newer ranches are pretty scarce as most builders choo...

What Buying A Mason Ohio Luxury Home May Not Get YouFor many people the idea of buying a luxury home in Mason carries with it some high expectations.  After all, when you're spending $600,000 or more (maybe MUCH more), you'd expect a home to fulfill your wishes. But the reality is a luxury home may NOT ultimately be everything you'd expect or hope for.  After some recent work with Mason home buyers we have some observations about Mason luxury homes for sale: An expensive home doesn't necessarily come with a great lot.  Fact is some yards might be a bit risky to young kids, adjacent to deep ditches, main roads or right up against the golf course water hazard. Maintenance is sometimes overlooked just like on much less expensive homes.  Wood rot on the main door frame?  Peeling exterior pai...

What Does P&G Mason Expansion Mean To Mason Home Owners? Yesterday P&G announced a major shift of local jobs from Blue Ash to Mason.  $300,000,000 in construction to expand Procter & Gamble's Mason Business Center by 500,000 square feet and the transfer of 1300+ employees from the Blue Ash facilties on Reed Hartman. The transfer won't happen overnight, with construction scheduled to complete in the 2018/2019 time frame, so there's still significant time between now and then. But there's still time to look ahead in our crystal ball (although the view IS a bit cloudy!) and anticipate what this means to Mason home owners: MORE traffic.  That's just a given.  You don't add 1300 jobs to an area without that.  But a few things MAY potentially lessen the impact.  Some of those Blue Ash employe...

Is A Prestige Subdivision Name Worth It? Long Cove.  Heritage Club.  Chestnut Hill. Say these names and people that know luxury homes in Mason KNOW where you live.  Custom homes.  Upscale features.  Unique.  Curb appeal.  NOT cookie cutter by any means. One of the perks of living in these communities is that despite the differentiation home to home, there's also homogeneity.  ALL the homes are upscale.  They're consistent in that regard, so when it's time to sell, there's price support for each other because each homes customization supports its worth. Where you encounter trouble is when you buy in what we'd label "faux" prestige developments.  We commonly see this when a developer carves out a smaller pocket of homes within a larger community and gives it a name like "The Reserves of _...

Luxury Mason Ohio Homes For Sale In Long Cove If you're searching Mason luxury homes for sale Long Cove WILL make your list.  Long Cove has been putting the LUXURY in the Mason Ohio area since 2005 and a regular host of Homearama, featuring the best of the best that area luxury home custom builders have to offer.    Long Cove is conveniently located just south of Mason in Deerfield Township, so you can protect your income from Mason city income tax while still enjoying the option of Mason City Schools.  Of course, since these homes are often $1 million or more in price, the property taxes will still be hefty (as is the annual HOA fee).  This is a pool community, although it's not uncommon for many of these homes to have their own pool.  Manmade lakes are a key feature of this community....

We're Only As Good As Our Local Knowledge My parents are retired to the mountains of West Virginia just a few miles from my mom's birthplace.  Beautiful mountains, a river behind them, rich dirt for their garden.  But this scenic place comes with its own set of hazards.  Just ask any trucker that relies SOLELY on their GPS and not on local expertise.  My parents have a long list of stories of truckers that took the GPS recommended DIRECT route and were stranded as a result.  A wrong turn up a dirt road and you'll find yourself in places that 18 wheelers can't go.  Bridges that won't support the weight, turns too sharp and narrow, and you want a place to turn around?  Good luck with that! Real estate is no different!  While you CAN find some level of information on national sites, to get...
