The Columbus Dispatch reported yesterday that the Residences of Creekside and in fact the total multi-use development known as Creekside on the Big Walnut Creek in downtown Gahanna was sold.  According to the local newspaper the receiver sold the development to Strathmore Development Co. of Michigan.  The Columbus Dispatch said: “The three-building property was purchased yesterday by Strathmore Development Co. for $10.5 million after several months of proceedings. The Residences of Creekside is the residential component of  a mixed use development in “Olde Gahanna” on the Big Walnut Creek known as Creekside Gahanna.  The Residences of Creekside are luxury condominiums in this “town center” infill development.  Tuesday evening I had an opportunity to visit  The Residences of Creekside in Gahanna,  the luxury condominiums built by The Stonehenge Company. Reading this outside the Columbus area?  Gahanna is a suburb of Columbus, outside 270, east of town.  Port Columbus Airport is south of Gahanna.  Gahanna is about 35,000 population.  The 2000 census was  32,636 people.  The area is served by the Gahanna  Jefferson School District.   So Creekside Gahanna is a town center in a small city in a large US metropolitan area.  Lets say The Residences of Cr... 04/21/2010
