Spring is just around the corner and just like this time every year our beloved Great Blue Herons have returned home to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  Watching and photographing the Herons is a popular attraction in this area and there is a Great Heron viewing spot located on Bath Road between Akron Peninsula Road and Riverview Road.  This herony has seen up to 176 nests in a single season. Each year the Herons return to this spot and a few others nearby.  In February, the males come and claim their nest.  In the next couple of weeks the females will arrive, find their partner, court and mate.  Baby Herons will hatch sometime in late April or early May.     Their nesting colonies need to be near wetlands or along the river so they can be close to their food source of fish and amphi...

The Blossom Glen community in Cuyahoga Falls is conveniently located between Cleveland and Akron and we are fortunate to have some great neighbors!         Just two miles to the west of us are three great neighbors.  The first is Blossom Music Center, summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra and host to a full summer schedule of popular music acts and symphonic performances.     Blossom Music Center is an amphitheatre with pavilion seating for  5,700 people and space for about 13,500 more on the lawn.  Over the years we have enjoyed many fine concerts there from Pink Floyd to the Cleveland Orchestra and everything in between.  One of our favorite things to do is go on the Fourth of July with family and friends, pack a picnic and a few bottles of wine and watch the Blossom Festival Band pe...

4th of July, 2010. It will be my twelfth Independence Day celebration in America. It happened that eleven out of twelve Independence Days my family spent in Cuyahoga Falls, at Blossom Music Center, enjoying the great American music and the best fireworks in the whole Greater Cleveland and Akron area. This natural amphitheater surrounded by beautiful rolling hills is a scene itself. Great performance by the Blossom Festival Band and great music in the open air create unbelievably cheerful atmosphere of joy and pride. Add to this pre-concert picnic on a grassy hills of Blossom , and it will make your Fourth of July celebration in Cleveland unforgettable. Pack your own basket, bring a blanket or lawn chairs, get together your friends and family and enjoy your perfect 4th of July. If you've...

Brookledge Golf Course is another course I were I have played. It is off of Bailey Rd. They have a driving range that is covered, so you can practice in the rain and has artificial turf. I think I get a false sense of hitting the ball well off plastic grass. They also have another driving range with real grass. This course is fun and I loved to play in the eve during twilight golf. This picture is of Hole number 1. The first time I played here the Canadian Geese were lined up near the tee box. I watched another golf take aim and he turfed it and unfortunately for the goose, instead of the ball sailing high into the air, it slammed into his neck. You can guess this goose was upset and me too. I was very relieved he didn't kill it. My daughter lost her Cleveland Indians golf ball in the ...

"Dawn Maloney is one of the few realtor's who will take the time to work with 'short sales'.  Her drive and determination to get the best possible settlement for her clients is unsurpassed!  She worked with us for over nine months and challenged the bank with unwaivering determination to avoid foreclosure.  She didn't stop there!  She also negotiated a deal with a builder/contractor for us so that we would not have to move to low-income housing or live with relatives. We would highly recommend Dawn to anyone who is facing foreclosure problems or just looking for a new home!" Marg and Randy Simon

A very popular activity in Cuyahoga Falls is the Rockin on the River concerts. They are held during the summer every Friday night. There are very good memory bands that come and play. One of the most popular is the Led Zeppelin memory band. It is usually very crowded that night. There are two bands that play. There is some seating, but you will need to get there early to get a seat. Most of the people that come stand in the courtyard and listen to the music while having a beer or wine and enjoy the food vendors. This year there were more food vendors. You can see many people there from young to old enjoying the music and taking a stroll along the river. Local charitable organizations serve beer to make money for their charities. What a way to bring people together!
