At this home inspection in Brecksville, Ohio. I observed this pile of decaying and infested wood. The general rule of thumb is to keep this type of firewood at least 50 feet away from the home. That way if carpenter ants, powder post beetles, or termites happen to decide to have a harvest festival on this pile of wood, they wont decide to bring the after hour party to your house. We are in the midst of being relocated from Cincinnati to the Cleveland area and neither myself or my husband could be present for the inspection.  Mark's report was very thorough (with photos), and he took the time to go through the report with me on the phone and answer any questions I had.  He has been extremely prompt in returning phone calls and accomodating our needs in this process....Molly Kowalczyk, Strongsville,Ohio   To contact Mark or Dave for a home inspection: Mark@OhiosHomeInspector.com or log onto our web site at http://www.ohioshomeinspector.com/ (440) 521-5399

Lo and Behold: WALMART  announced that they are participating in Job Opportunity Zones in ten cities. How did I find this out? And what is it? Let me explain.WALMART as we know, has been taking it on the chin by groups of citizens wherever they plan a store; some are thrilled but this inevitable group of people springs up and says, we don't want you, you will take away jobs from locals. Walmart is answering this objection with Job Opportunity Zones. One already exists on the west side of Chicago. Now nine more are planned: Decatur Georgia, El Mirage Arizona, Landover Hills, Maryland, Portsmouth Virginia, Richmond California and Sanger California. And Cleveland Ohio. What does it mean to have a Job and Opportunity Zone? Walmart says they will aid in the growth of jobs and provide economi...

Those of us who are from Cleveland relish the gritty, roll up your sleeves history, the sight of a steel mill chimney spewing fire at night; I even have a photo of a rainbow I took as a kid, as a backdrop to a steel mill. Cities embrace their heritage or they lose their identity; at least that is my humble opinion. To show ya that Clevelanders embrace Industry, this is the view from Tremont, Cleveland's hottest west side housing market, and the most coveted views are like the heart stopping one (to me anyway) on the left. Now we have Steelyard Commons. On the surface it's WalMart and Target. But look closer, and there is even a playground that looks like an old blast furnace. The Western Reserve Historical Society is also working with the developers at Steeyard (and yes Mr. Brady, it's p...
