Chinese Restaurant Brecksville Ohio - Frankie's Wok Phone: 440.546.5388 Parking in front (free) west side on Route 21 (Brecksville Road) just south of Route 82 (Royalton Road) Downtown Brecksville Frankie's Wok is a wonderful, small and friendly Chinese restaurant serving great Hunan, Szechuan and Catonese style food for the past fifteen years in the same location and is conveniently located in beautiful, downtown Brecksville Ohio. I know the owners personally for five years and my son went to pre-school with their son and they are very nice, warm and always (5 years later) ask how my son is doing and vice versa. I have tried numerous dishes, but my favorite is spicy Kung Pao Chicken with the Sesame Chicken a close second. Moreover, my son only likes chicken and baby corn so they make t...

If you need Horse Tack around the Brecksville Ohio area, Clip-ity Clop is the place to go. The smell of leather hits your nose instantly as you walk through the door, beckoning you in to he wonderful world of English and Western  tack and supplies, riding apparel and footwear, and, of course,  Beyer horses!  Clip-ity Clop Western Store and Saddlery has been providing all of this and more since 1969 at the intersection of Route 82 and Riverview at 12930 Chippewa Road in Brecksville, Ohio, 44141.     I remember meeting John Rogers, owner, back in 2006, when our daughter started taking riding lessons and needed a saddle.  He was concerned about the saddle being the right fit, not what expensive saddle he could sell us.  After trying numerous saddles, we bought a used schooling saddle that ...

Below you will find all active listings plus pending, and closed sales for the second quarter of 2009. Activity has increased for me and most agents I know with a nice combination of buyers buying and listings selling. The numbers are down slightly from first quarter, but activity is steady. There are, of course many homeowners still facing foreclosure, short sales, and unemployment. As has been the case for quite some time now, if you want to sell your home, pricing is key. I speak from experience when I say this: Getting on the first page of Google using the Active Rain platform for various keyword searches is easier for me than catching a bat which decided to play "catch me if you can" at 2am last week.  Oy! I needed to work late one night last week, I finished up at 1am, went off to dreamyland, only to be awakened by my black lab downstairs who is growling and barking.  After a minute of trying to ignore him as I was totally out of it, I knew he probably either saw a raccoon (usually in the winter hanging upside down eating birdseed in my birdfeeder (or is it the bird's birdfeeder)), a deer with a mouth full of my hostas (grr...), or some other outdoor creature...so I stumble down the stairs, hear something overhead, but I'm so tired, it doesn't compute...

The 62nd annual Kiwanis Horse Show in Brecksville Ohio will be held on Sunday, August 2nd, 2009. This is the oldest horse show in the State of Ohio and features a main ring for equitation as well as a hunter ring for hunter-jumpers.  My daughter (a hunter-jumper) has competed in this show for several years and this is a great event for allowing riders to compete in a relaxed but yet formal atmosphere without all the pressure, stress and costs of A-rated shows.  As a locally sponsored show by the Brecksville Kiwanis, it's a wonderful event to attend and learn more about horses, see some really neat things take place, visit with local arts and craft vendors, and eat some fun food. You can even order tickets online. I would like to thank my neighbor, Bob Schworm, Secretary of the Brecksvil...

A wonderful and former real estate client of mine from Brecksville Ohio sent an e-mail to me yesterday with a link to an article from WalletPop.com that showed that two communities in Ohio, both in the Greater Cleveland area, made the top twenty best places to retire in the United States. Coming in at #2 on the list is Brecksville, Ohio, a community where I reside and treasure.  Brecksville is very scenic, surrounded by nature with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Cleveland Metroparks, has a quaint downtown feel, has entry-level to multi-million dollar housing, has a world-class senior retirement center and a state-of-the-art community-wide recreation center as well as a ton of other features.  Congratulations Brecksville, and I am very proud to call Brecksville, Ohio home. Brecksville Ohio has one of the most quaint and beautiful downtown areas I have ever seen. It's such a pleasure to work (and play) here. There is no shortage of things to do in Brecksville. The metro parks offer a peaceful hike that could go on for miles, or you can sit on one of the benches surrounding the beautiful gazebo on the square and read a book, play a round of golf at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course, or go to the community center for some fitness training followed by a dip in the pool. the possibilities are endless..... Here are the July 2009 real estate market statistics for the Brecksville, Ohio community in Northeast Ohio Absorption Rates and Months Housing Supply These two terms are one piece of the puzzle to help real estate agents, appraisers, home sellers and buyers alike make sense out of the real estate market. This is a little-known, but effective tool, if used in proper context, to help a home seller or buyer understand the market conditions for the home they wish to sell or buy. The easiest way to define these two terms is with an example: Absorption Rates (AR)- The rate at which homes are selling (ie. absorbed), over a specific time period, typically 12 months.  This is beneficial in determining supply and demand trends for the local market. Months Housing Supply (MHS) - How long it will t...

My teen aged daughter will go to a fair or home days every day it's there.  I enjoy a couple of hours and my husband and I did get the chance to go last weekend.                       The weather was fantastic, there were rides, games, fabulous entertainment, and all the best "fair food"...corn dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, ice cream, cotton candy, gyros (a favorite of mine) and elephant ears (Lou's favorite. We saw tons of people we knew and had lots of fun catching up, although most of them asked "So how's real estate?" Luckily I was able to reply that business was great!                   If you would like to buy or sell a home in Brecksville Ohio or in the surrounding communities, please call me at 440-263-7496, or you may want to visit my website for more specific information on th...

Have you seen this sign rider? NEW PRICE Why in the world would an agent or a seller, for that matter, want New Price, slapped on the For Sale sign in their yard? What happened to the Old Price? Is it a New House or is it the Old House? I cannot venture a guess as to how this will actually work to sell a house. P.S.  The importance of a sign is almost nill.  While we had a top-notch graphic design firm create our logo, colors, etc., and believe in an absolutely stellar presence for our clients, the yard sign is mostly irrelevant in the online age.  Buyers are finding homes through the Internet and could care less what rider(s) is/are on a sign.  What I love even more are those home-grown agent-created sign riders that look like the peel off sticky things you get at a craft store, where...

Have you seen this sign rider? AVAILABLE NOW Really, this is a rider on one of the For Sale signs near our community. The first time I drove by it, I thought what in the world does that mean? Available now—as opposed to next fall, next year, next decade?? I suppose it could mean that the house is vacant and you can just move right in—not sure I would want to advertise that fact. What I love even more are those home-grown agent-created sign riders that ...

It's the height of summer...nighttime not falling until 9:30...warm weather, a gentle breeze, and there is nothing, and I mean nothing, more fun than having your eight year-old son say: Dad, do you want to go play catch and hit the ball?  This brings back such fond memories of when I played organized baseball as a kid as well as random pick-up games in our neighborhood, where the bigger kids made the rules, and chose who was going to be on what team, when the smaller kids were always the last picked, and we "threw the bat" and two kids hands kept getting wrapped around the bat alternately and whoever ended up on top, their team got to bat first. The thrill of being at home plate, waiting for the pitcher to throw it, a little scared if it was going to be a fast ball or whiz by your head ...

I can imagine you are wondering what in the world this is?  Well, it is the week-long Basketball Camp put on by the Brecksville -Broadview Hts. Bees Basketball team, with the help of the varsity coaching staff.  I think every boy in the Brecksville-Broadview Hts. school district goes to this camp.  It is so much fun and the boys pretty much know everyone.  Our 8 year old son always talks about the size of the high school players, in particular their shoe sizes! It is truly an experience watching these kids each summer-this is our third year taking our son.  Last year, he did not want anyone walking in with him, just not cool.  It is the ol' drop off at the entryway.  Apparently it is even cooler when you get dropped off at the same time your friends are and you can all check out each ot...

I snapped a picture of this guy the other day and wondered if he is a frog or a toad.  Because we live in Echo Hills, a fabulous neighborhood in Brecksville, OH, we see lots of nature's creatures milling about.  The Cuyahoga River winds around us through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and we have numerous creek feeds from this wonderful body of water.  The natural ravines and wooded paths and glorious foliage is all around us and between the deer, the squirrels, the owls, the hawks, the coyotes, and the frogs, we have quite a time around here.  Did I mention chipmunks, moles and bats, as well?  I suppose when you look at it, it is all Mother Nature's territory, so all are welcome, whether some are more welcome than others!  Mind you, we also have quite a collection of dogs in the nei...

Last weekend (it took me a week to recuperate and write this post! :-)...my friend Glen and I decided to take a long hike through the Brecksville Reservation and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  While we take hikes frequently (we try for once a week), this one was both a lot of fun and very tiring as it ended up being over 11 miles.  Glen has a GPS that would allow the Dominoes Pizza guy to find us in the middle of nowhere.  While Glen would make an eagle scout proud (hint: if I were ever to get stuck on a desert island, you wouldn't want me orchestrating the survival decisions, but Glen would allow everyone to survive).  When I went to Glen's house to start the trek, he had on shorts and I had on denim jeans -- that should have been my first clue. Since we sometimes hike through thi...
