Who Can Resist This Face? I know I can't. Kyra was a rescue puppy when we got her on December 31st, 2008 A very welcomed New Year's Eve present. She was ten weeks old back then. It makes you wonder how people can just dump puppies and dogs in the middle of winter. The good people at Last Hope Animal Rescue saved Kyra and her two siblings. In fact, our good friends have her sister, Callie. Kyra is a go with the flow kind of dog. She will lay around all day and do nothing. When we come home she is happy to see us but is not crazy with pent up energy. We take her out to do her business and come back in. She is just overall a happy camper. Springtime on Long Island - The Morning Doves Are Back Every Spring the morning doves make their nest in a tree by our front door. Last year, hurricane Irene took most of the nest away and I figured the birds won't be back. I was wrong! Little by little they are putting the nest back together. The two morning doves are back and forth with little pieces of grass and whatever else they can find. I can only imagine how hard it must be for them to do that. He leaves behind four daughters, two are in high school and two are in college. Peter Figoski was responding to an armed robbery in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn NY. He was shot in the face once and passed away a few hours later. With 22 years on the job, he made over 200 arrests and received 12 medals. One of them is the Exceptional Merit Award for coming under fire in a brush in the early 1990's with a man who was later convicted as the city's copycat Zodiac killer. I remember that one. This Little Guy Cooperated For The Photo Shoot! Last week I was working from home and kept hearing "animal" noises outside. I went onto my deck with my camera and listened to where the sound was coming from. I put the camera on digital zoom and found this squirrel just sitting in the tree making his voice known. Not sure why he was making sounds. He wasn't eating and his tail was up against his body which means he didn't feel in danger.
